Bones You'd Like to See, thread #4

Upgrade/Modification kits for certain models, aimed for more "army" uses with some of them.

Such as the Anhurian Cavalry, alternate arms would be neat. A more standard spear rather than a Lance, other shield, bows, swords/axes, a banner (Or just empty hand options included letting other things be used with it like the metal banners kid or an instrument). A few things that fit the style that could be used for a more leader mini.

King Denethall. Prince Denethorr, and Thor would be nice to see in bones

Alternate Arms for 49029  IMEF Bulldog I in Bones.

They come with:

Right arm with a sword, right arm with cannon of some sort.

Left arm with a "Power Fist", left arm with a flamethrower.

I would like:

Right arm with a "Power Fist".

Left arm with a melee weapon.

Left arm with a ranged weapon.

Right and Left arms with shields (or just separate high tech looking shields).

I would also like an alternate set of legs that look like a human is actually wearing them.

Don't get me wrong I like the current legs, they just don't look like they're made for a human to wear.

Seeing how Reaper has a brush holder prototype, and seeing how they can make large items like the pirate ship or the obsidian crypt; I believe it's reasonable to conceive that Reaper could make BONES DICE TOWERS.

The mechanical and assembly design is rather simple. It could have a little tray or fence to catch the dice. And it could be made portable.

It could look like a usable small tower; or a siege tower; or a bell tower, or any sort of decorative bas-relief designs on all sides; or simple flat surfaces just asking for freehand art.

It could even be a modular design where you can add levels to change the height.

New idea that capitalizes on the popularity of the Netflix show "The Queen's Gambit": BONES CHESS SETS. Something for add-ons and not core set.

The general idea is different factions as chess pieces. Human templars, royal court, elven army, dwarves, goblins, undead, demons, elementals, fey, etc. Countless possibilities.

Overall, only 6 characters designs are required per faction: king, queen, bishop (magic user), knight (mount), rook (mini building or elevated) and pawn.

They did have 3 Wildfolk in Bones 5, but I know it’s always nice to have multiple different class looks for something like that.

The idea to use them as the more friendly Scandinavian trolls is an interesting one. Which brings me to another suggestion for a Norse expansion: Huldr or Huldrefolk.

Huldr usually looked like comely young maidens, often dressed as milk maids, but had some telling inhuman feature if you looked closely. Either a cow or fox tail sticking out from under their skirts, or a back that was hollow, like that of a rotted-out tree trunk.  I’d love to see what Christine van Patten could sculpt toward that concept. @Rainbow Sculptor’s Sirens in Bones 5 were fabulous.

That is some very cool imagery, and surprisingly folklore I'm unfamiliar with. Will definitely have to check some of that out, sounds fun. So glad you liked the Sirens, I can't wait to get my set!

Reposted from the General Thread:

I would love to see Reaper produce an entire hobgoblin infantry platoon at some point.

The hobgoblin platoon could include an officer, platoon sergeant, maybe a spell caster or cleric/medic, and definitely a variety of grunts armed to the teeth with bows/crossbows, pole arms, swords, etc. Bonus points for an armored carnivorous ape with hobgoblin handler.

So much this. There are so many minis for goblins, orcs, and kobolds, but we need more hobgoblins!

After obsessing over Reaper's magnificent paints, I am left wanting something... some sort of description of the paints are designed for/ capable of. For instance; I bought a bottle of Prom Night Pink, only to realize it was a pearlescent once I received it. The Holiday color set gets nice descriptions of each paint... I just want to see more info about the paints without having to search for hours on google or in the forums.

I just came across DHAVAL ICEFIST, WHITE DRAGON KNIGHT; Sculpted by Kevin Williams (SKU: 03346)

This model, and especially his helmet, is the perfect homage/influence of the D&D White Dragon head shape. It is amazing.

I would love to see this in Bones, as well as four other similar mini’s, exploring the same design approach, with the other D&D chromatic dragons informing the helmet (and other armor?) shapes. Heck, make 10 of them, and do the five D&D metallic dragons, too.

And his dragon wing shield? That needs to go on a new Bones/HIPS weapon sprue.

A half orc or hobgoblin contingent for me. Well armed, quite uniform in appearance, capable rather than wild looking.

Kobold zombies.

An expansion where everyone's cold. Choose between an icy wind and a frosty grave...

An expansion where everyone's hot, so desert/Egyptian themed. Not just Egyptian style undead though.

A deep dive into the Warlord races and factions, including the bloodstone gnomes, the werewolves, reptus.

I would love to see non-human children (both villagers and adventurers). Dwarves, elves, gnomes, halflings, tieflings, firbolgs, orcs. Actually, I'd love some baby / young monsters too.

Also female baddies- bandits, orcs, trolls, ogres, hobgoblins, giants, etc. And they should be in fighting poses, not just standing around looking pretty like most of the existing female giants.

And we could all use more female models in general- wearing practical clothing, please!
