Sculptor Sandra Garrity posted about IP infringment on Facebook

Would someone PM me the website where these casts can be found?  i have searched for armorcast and found a company that supplies miniatures but none of Sandra's dragons are on the website.

Does anyone?  People wonder why things get produced illegally, this is usually the reason.  If you can't get what you want from normal channels you move to more questionable avenues.  I like Sandra and I think she did a marvoluous job with these.  I think she deserves payment for her work.  But I also think it's pretty mean to withhold these from production.

And even if mirlton is shut down, if a legal method is not offered, some recaster is going to see opportunity and it will be harder to chase down.

I always find it a little humorous when we are discussing things like this with miniatures.  It seems like it's in everyones interest to produce the miniatures legally.  There is obviously a market and I assume the artists would like to get paid and I am pretty sure there is a casting house that wants to make a profit.  Yet so many good casts languish for lack of production...

Did they sell her dragons?

As far as I can tell what this was about was stopping the illegal sale of models Sandra has gained the rights to for Grenadier and then sold over to Armorcast.

None of which, near as I can tell, included her dragons.

If you want some legal Sandra Garrity dragons, I hear Reaper has a bunch, though. ;)

Alright, you can all Zen smack me across the back of the head.  Wrong artist.  I was thinking of Julia Guthrie. And her Grenadier dragons which I have had a very hard time finding.

For better or worse, except for some of the bones versions of metal dragons, I own every dragon that reaper has cast, including the serious paperweight that is T'raukzal, although that one I do own both versions of.

There have been a lot of amazing sculptors over the years in this industry.  I am really happy to see the older minis coming back into production.  I just have a particular love for dragons...

I am also really happy to see the artists getting recognized for their work and getting compensated for them.  I just do fear that if copyrights are kept from production, we open the door for less legitimate production methods.

Not afraid to admit I am mistaken.  And I am happy to see that things were finally settled with protection of the artist

At some point I still need to order that goblin war giant I’ve been wanting since the ‘80’s.

Something I have done two years ago, still need to paint it.

A bit afraid since it is my Holy Grail since I saw it in the 80's, I want to do it justice.

Yeah, that giant is probably the only model from their range I'd like to paint. But, €80... Some day, maybe, in the future.

Grumpy has it.

In lead.

It weighs an elfin TON!

I think he used GW plastic goblins instead of the original metal models, and it has chains all over it too. I think he called it Jack in Irons or something like that.

      WIP Thread here
I finally finished this dragon. I took a lot longer for the base because I got a little carried away, but I'm really super happy with how it came out.  To begin, this was a request from my mother in law to take inspiration from a set of china she has.
      Here's the plate

In the end though I'm really happy with how the dragon come out and took lots of pictures:

I'm going to do my best next time to rein in the base a bit, but I'm super happy with how this came out.

Hi everyone, here are pictures of the diorama I made for the forum contest. As I mention in my entry post, this Dungeon Dwellers Diorama is my first 3D printed project. I created this interactive base to display Reaper Miniatures models; 07002 Baran Blacktree the Veteran Warrior, 07004 Stitch Thimbletoe the Halfling Thief, 07008 Luwin Phost the Wizard and 07012 Caerindra Thistlemoor the Fighter all sculpted by Bobby Jackson, along with 02712 Eyebeast sculpted by Julie Guthrie and 03017 Charnel Grub sculpted by Jason Wiebe.

I designed the dungeon model and printed it myself. The dungeon wall, pillar, door, the crate, the barrel and the chandelier are all 3D printed. The torch is from Reaper’s 02638 Adventuring Accessories sculpted by Sandra Garrity. The extra eyestalks on the Eyebeast are from Reaper’s 03440 Creature Components II. I used Reaper’s MSP acrylics, Citadel inks, Vallejo Matt Varnish.

The four adventurers base are imbedded in the display diorama and they are removable. Last, there are two small magnets under the Charnel Grub and in the wall, so the models, except for the Eyebeast, can be removed and utilized for game play.

Your comments and critiques are very welcome. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I mostly post on the Reaper Facebook Page and Twitter now.  I still check out everything on the "Show off"  every day, though!

Here is my most recent tartan project.  This is Aeslin sculpted by Sandra Garrity.  My customer is a fan of the show (and books) Outlander and this figure was chose specifically for it's potential for painting a tartan.  The tartan that was picked is the Wilson Ancient Hunting Tartan.  It has these very thin quadruple orange lines that give it a very interesting blue/green/orange colour shift look.  I was only able to fit in three of the thin lines, but it was enough to give the cool effect.

Trying to get back into painting and out of my comfort zone, here is Silverhorn:

Nothing wild really, but it was a good exercise in painting up from gray to white. Not perfect but he turned out much better than anticipated, so I’m calling this one a win.

A large mini ragepainted sloppyfast in under an hour just to blow off some steam and get it off the tray it has been standing around for ages on.
Well, large mini I say. Compared to most other dragons of the Bones kickstarters, this one is rather smallish.
However, back in the day when heavy metal was king, this mini would be considered a large miniature of a dragon.
