YET ANOTHER  strange Mushroom Creature has been seen lurking in The Spooky Woods, the dread Devil's Cup:

The Devil's Cup is based loosely on an Elf Cup Mushroom:

Well done. The mushroom head itself is very convincing and your work on the base is also great. If I can suggest and if you happen to have gloss sealer, I think sealing the upper part of the cap with a shiny sealer would make it even more realistic. Just like on the last picture.

Whimsically wonderful, as usual! I also like his base. Very...I was going to say cute but not sure that is the right word. Very striking, tall fellow!

That purple capped shroom is pretty neat too. I love how you make vibrant colors work to create slightly disturbing creatures.

The bright colors add to the surrealism of the miniatures & settings, or so it seems. This was a serendipitous effect that just seem to be a bonus to my love of bright colors. No planning was involved, although I wish I could say there was. I am glad you like it, KruleBear.

I have been following your W.I.P. thread over on the C.M.o.N. Forum. I have been tempted to post there as well, but where to start is a problem...I do have a LOT of things made & in the works.

Nice.  Is that a production mini or something you made yourself?  If it's a production one were did you get it from?

So yet another devilishly sprouted mushroom takes form and breaths its toxic vapors onto the dew sodden canopy of the Spooky Forest.. 

 

Its comically large red cap is a clear warning to friend and foe alike, "approach at your own risk!"

Ok, you may approach a little to revel in its beauty and gawk at the precision of the dark forces that were at work at its conception.. 

 

Now be gone, and let the gang brew their poisons in peace!

 

I have a feeling this is not the last we hear of these little critters.. And I sure hope it is not! ^_^

Thanks, Logos...glad you like it. As Glitterwolf the sparkly lupine said, I am the culprit behind the Mushroom Folk, Spooky, Trees, & other Horrors. I have been known to give the thingies away.

Thanks, Paradoxical Mouse. I am delighted you feel that way about my Little Horrors...the sentiments are appreciated & wonderful for my morale/motivation. 

As I mentioned to Logos, I do give them away, painted & unpainted. It does require a PM & an address. Contact with a Crazy Old Man is, however, always risky.

      Another month another batch of Mushrooms & Associates. This month is a bit lighter than last. I started it toward the end of last month's Gang...which is still waiting on some Show Off photos. 
      I am also hoping to squeeze in some Pumpkinheads & other Halloween strangeness elsewhere. More of that later. For now, The Mushrooms:

      A Goblin Faerie sidekick seemed appropriate. Appropriate or not I wanted to try out some paper punch butterfly wings with a foam coating inner layer:

      The Rhino a la James Christensen

      I found a wonderfully bizarre illustration of an armored Rhino by James Christensen. It is just my kind of Beasty:

      SO I started working on making my own version of the illustration:

       
      At this point the green stuff work is done with the exception of some touch ups & embellishments:

      I thought I would be more motivated to finish painting the Big Guy if I post here as well as in The Last Hurrah Thread...I have a lot of strange thoughts.
      Today I started adding some colors to the base. Photos are likely...sometime or other.

      New Mushrooms on the Block

      A few days ago I started a new type of Mushroom based on some Pinterest polymer clay pieces like this one:

       
      This one & his kin are quite a bit larger than the ones I make, but the detail is something to aspire to.
      Here is a step by step of my Mushroom in progress up to yesterday. This is the plumber's epoxy dolly:

      I use the left over green stuff to make smaller versions of the Big Mushroom...you probably already notice that:

       
      There will be more of this type in varying sizes AND their bases coming along soon...or eventually.

      SO I have been hoping to get Enigma's Oz-zuh moon Face; AND I have been waiting almost patiently for a restock of Enigma at C.M.o.N..
      Realizing that I just might not live long enough to see that happen I decided to make my own version of the Guy. This is what theirs looks

      I still would like to do Enigma's, but I am pleased with my own attempt...it might be a lack of taste issue.

      Enigma Oz-Zuh, Moon Face Inspired DIMS Variation: DONE!

      I have been waiting somewhat patiently for C.M.o.N. to restock Enigma's Oz-Zuh, Moon Face for several months. Today I thought I'd try my hand at making a mini similar to Oz.
      This is Enigma's version...I would love to have mine paint up this nicely:

      Some green stuff work on his face, the ruff collar, & a hooded cape:


      Now the Moon Faced Lad is one sleeve away from basic completion with only some embellishment that I may later regret to do:

       
      The green stuff should be dry by seven or so; SO I may have him done today...or not.
      Since I will be basing & painting him, I thought the W.I.P. section was more appropriate than the Sculpting.
