Grenadier Lich

Here is the Lich from the Grenadier Monsters box set. 

 

I didnt highlight the robe. I wanted it to stay grungy looking. I’m not sure if that was a mistake or not. How does one highlight a grungy purple robe?  What color mix would one use?

I would not have thought that Old Deadite could paint up that SPLENDIDLY, The dark robes suit the mini; one rarely sees a Lich who is considered a sappy dresser. OUTSTANDING WORK!

 Highlight the robe like you would normally, and make sure you get down to black in the shadows... Then either do a thin dark brown glaze over it or dump a dark brown wash over it (glaze would be better, but probably harder to do). The glaze/wash won't change the color of the darker parts all that much, but it will shift the lighter stuff a bit toward brown, which will read as fading and dirt, especially if it's slightly uneven.

What moonglum said.  I have this guy at home in a box somewhere and...  well, what malefactus said!  (ie. I would not have expected this old sculpt to look so good painted)
