as I mentioned, the 2nd holds more appeal to me as well, it's just how to place him on the base....

 

If you were to divide a base from front to back into 5 equally spaced bands, I like to place my minis in the 4th band back from the front....

 

Which doesn't mean I won't mod the base....

The rest d the skin with SC 75 Field Grey and Mediterranean blue 12 to 1...

Blue on the face with WC one coat blue

Red on the face with WC one coat Red

belt with SC 75 Black Leather and Brown Leather 50%

After doing his skin to this ugly stage, I realized that scales are NOT the worst thing in the world to paint....

so I still have some figuring to do on how the thing will fit...

GW Scorched Brown on the claws / Horns / spikey bits....

WC Magenta ink in the mouths

The skin under the tails SC 75 Field Grey and Mediterranean blue 12 to 1

And after carving on the base quickly, then prime....

will pick up again tomorrow evening!

For Science!

 

So, I have heard and talked about covering a piece of a mini, jamming it into it's spot on a mini, after coating it with vaseline, so that green stuff can be applied and the details sculpted, while being able to paint pieces separately....

 

Well, it works!

 

I coated the bottom of the Big Gs feet with Vaseline, put some green stuff on the base, and pushed him down into it to figure out where to blend the thing into the base, and of course remove all the excess GS....

 

 

After removing some 'stuff...

 

Some more 'stuff removal...

 

and after pock pocking the 'stuff to make it look like 'Broccoli'...

 

There is still more stuff to do to fix the base where I cut the base away to fit his feet...

 

But that is for AFTER the GS dries for 24 hours....
