I took James Wappel's "oil slick" class, and it was most illuminating. It also combo'd really well with his "shaded base coat" class.

Actually, he added that after I asked him about it on Facebook. I was going to take it.

James also teaches a Reaper clears class.. I'd love a class on using Inks and the differences between brands..

Hmmn. Well I could drop hard colors, keep theory but maybe add in a basic class. Or condense theory to add a quick brushstroke and ergonomic section. Maybe that would work. I’d teach busts, but to be honest, they’re expensive and take a long time to paint. I know I put at least 40+ hours in mine and I take a lot of shortcuts- though teaching those are fun... The bust class I took was a 16 hour class. It might work with a cheap large scale figurine from the hobby store along the lines of a garden gnome, but most busts I paint are $80 at retail

... well, if Reaper goes and gives out busts in the ViP bags again, at least some folks might come in with a bust in hand .. um.. so to speak.

I think those resin dragon heads are presently the only busts I own. ^^;

Broken toad sells a set of 5 mini busts for like 30$ for 5 I think. Theyre about 2 inches tall. It'd be plausible to get a beginner into that, PLUS teach skin tones at the same time while introducing the busts concept.

 

Collapse Industries also sell 3 to 5 inch busts for 12 to 20$ each but they are more alien and creature-esque.

I have a problem. Its an addiction really. As of October 24 I came up with 12 nrw busts......I try not to count my existing ones. I need to paint faster.

If it were popular, Reaper might be able to produce a few new copies of "The Grudge" from their own product catalog, but the cost would probably have to be worked into the price of the class.

I saw Rhonda taught a “level up” class, but Michael wasn’t teaching anything like that this time around. I really need more advanced classes at this point and I’m sure others would also like to see more advanced classes for beyond intermediate levels to help us get to the gold standards we push ourselves for.

 

The vast majority of classes at ReaperCon are basic to intermediate and I understand most of the attendees are of those levels (not knocking painting for fun or hobbying here at all, so I hope this doesn’t come across as rude or ungrateful), so I’d get very excited to be able to get a few classes of the higher levels of instruction.
