Getting to Know You ... November Edition

Recommended Posts

Greetings forum things! Once again, I, the Griffin of Grumpiness snag the tattered robe of the Quisitor in my beak for this the ninth month of Old Rome's calendar and also the month all Turkeys Dread!

Question for Thursday, Nov 1st:

Halloween is behind us, how long will you tolerate the decorations thereof?

When do yours (if you had some) get stowed away for next year?

There were very few local decorations, so it is basically not an issue.

Also not an issue.

I didn't put up decorations this year ::(:

But when I do, they're usually a mix of fall and spooky decor. The spooky decor goes away on Nov 1, or my soonest day off depending on how I feel.

My tolerance for decorations was broken the year I realized we still had a standing Christmas tree in July. Hard to judge yourself or others after that. But... as we were unable to be home, we did not decorate and have no cleanup.

We didn't go as nuts this year (as we had major wind storms and a multi-day power outage just before.  But usually a week or so after.  Or when the pumpkins start to rot.

Seeing as I like Halloween, they may stay up for a while.

Sadly, we didn't manage to put any up this year.

I didn't put up anything beyond a carved pumpkin this year.  Personally, when I do decorate, I'll take the decorations down before Thanksgiving.  Usually in the 1st or 2nd weekend after Halloween.

Traditionally they stay up till Thanksgiving-ish. Then they get put away and Xmas comes out. This year I have access to neither Christmas nor Halloween decorations, so...

The decorations around here are very much more of a harvest feel, which makes sense as it's a rural area. So they generally stay up through Thanksgiving. There are some spooky decorations but they come down quickly after Halloween has ended. If I had any up, they'd get put away the first weekend after the holiday.

Outside decorations will come up as soon as it stops raining. We didn’t decorate inside this year though, because 2016’s decorations became our standard decor. They’re staying up.

The rules as they currently stand:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 13:00 hours GMT (UK / Europe Time: some Zero Dark Thirty hour for US time zones)
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me... (Or Talespinner, he started it.)
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

December will begin ^ with such a question because the month begins on a Saturday.
