My mom and I were talking abut stuff like this yesterday. We've heard of people being stuck in their vehicles when there was a wiring failure and the power locks and windows wouldn't work. The older I get the more I like mechanical simplicity and dislike finicky electronics in things. Push button technology is ok when it works and if you're in a city. When you're an hour or more from the nearest garage and the stupid thinks go wonky it's an expensive pain.

That is what automatic center punches are for, best way to break out a window and spring loaded so you don't need a hammer. You just press against the window and the pin will push into the casing and then it will release the spring pressure and you have pieces of window everywhere.

Stranger Things season 2, here we go!

I don't know why anyone ever would like Steve. Dude reminds me of a real-life version of The Monarch from Venture Bros.

It's the hair.

For real though, he gets a lot more likeable in the second season.

Pesto?

Exactly!

Going with red, including some mushrooms, onion, corn, pees, broccoli, and sausage. Black olive bread and cheddar cheese on the side.

$100?  Nice!

As to the restaurant, that was just dumb on their part. It would have cost them essentially nothing to reward him with some meals and would in addition to being the right thing to do would incentivize people to help them out in situations like that in the future.  We gave a guy a stack of free pizza coupons (probably enough to eat pizza every weekend for a semester) for something similar at the restaurant I worked at in college.

If they were really smart, they would have comped him some number of meals and called the media to thank him publicly. It would have been nice for him and not incidentally good advertising for the restaurant.

Amateurs.

I’m currently experimenting with reducing the amount of UVA and UVB I’m exposed to.

So that includes avoiding halogen and fluorescent light, and wearing sunscreen when I can’t. (I’ve found a sun screen that doesnt feel as icky on my body.)

I haven’t found good information of if natural light bulbs have more UVA or UVB than usual. And I haven’t figure out if a uva/uvb shield for light would damper the positive effects of natural light. Since the beneficial sunlight driven  biological processes usually need the input of energy at those wavelengths.

So so basically we will see at the end of my 4 week trial. If it does make a difference, I’ll have to do a bit more digging to see and understand what wave lengths  full spectrum LEDs put out.

Normal glass (including the glass in a lightbulb) is very good at cutting higher energy UV. It's essentially opaque to UVB and UVC. Not so much to UVA, though.
