77396 Olivia, quick paint-job in purple monochrome

Recommended Posts

Thank you so much for sharing the finished figure here!!! That's very helpful, since I'll be able to use it as a reference (rather than just relying of my memory of the figure in class). She turned out lovely, and I like how you used little dabs of paint to create texture on the hems of her sleeves and bottom of her robe.

I really appreciated your class, since it showed me where I need to focus my efforts so I can improve my shading/highlighting. Thank you again! ^_^

your class was very informative at reapercon. It has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and attempt a Monochrome figure very soon.  I wish I had a little more time during each class because I have such a relaxed pace while painting and I get a little hard on myself for not keeping the same pace as others. I also wanted to say that you are a very well spoken dude! Thank you for sharing the finished piece!

Thanks, everyone!

Glad to help you, @OneBoot and @Bonnie Bailey

Paint-along classes can be tough because people paint at different paces ... but yes, please share the results of your own monochrome paint-jobs.

(And I also hope that you get into one of my classes next year, @Guindyloo !)

The dire crocodile, dire boar, and dire crab were one of the Bones 4 addons, and it doesn't look like they've hit retail just yet. Which is a shame, because we need more giant crabs.
The mud on the dire crocodile's base is just some water effect goo dribbled on that half of the base. The barnacles attached to the rocks on the dire crab's base were sculpted with green stuff. The rocks... those are just rocks.

I'm looking for something to stick Bones, specifically Ma'al Drakar's terrain, to a wooden base. It's not thick enough, at the area I want to place it, to pin effectively.
What kind of adhesives would work? I'm thinking epoxy, maybe? I just /really/ don't want to melt it accidentally and have to buy a new one.

I just like the way the blue/black wings look.  - I did the same with the Librarian Sophie. (last month)
I really need to paint up one of the metal versions for contrast.
I'm not sure what she is serving - Meat, bread and salad is the way I painted it, but that could be cake instead.

Been wanting to paint this one for awhile. Love the dynamic pose! Really happy with this one.

Look at that winning smile!  He wants you to come for dinner....

I am sad to see the paint has rubbed off in some places, might have to try to patch that up by using some Reaper liner.
