Genuinely surprised by this. I'd want to see the statistics.

Talk to your automobile insurance agent.

He can probably get you statistics from their actuarial department on payouts from accidents caused by deer.

What makes them so dangerous is that at night they will run/jump towards the headlights.

Soviet invaders, not that there's really much difference.

Main difference being the NAZIs would take all the people and work them to death or just kill them while the Soviets would leave the people to starve and take anything that wasn't bolted down, everything that was bolted down, the bolts, and anything that resembled a tool.

Regimes that declare trade unions to be illegal organisations cannot fit ANY definition of socialism.

And thank you, but I prefer to avoid twaddle on the internet.

I asked for access to "Beekeepers" some time ago, but no response from Lady Storm so far. Perhaps she knows me better than I know myself.  ::P:

Not sure who is responsible for that area since Lady Storm retired.

TheMostInterestingManInTheWorld_1426.jpg.6d176a194aca49d7d33964e51a73af4c.jpg I miss Jon Goldsmith. I really do.

As The Most Interesting Man In The World, he was great. Sharks had a week devoted to HIM. He once parallel parked a TRAIN. And if he patted you on the back, you'd put it on your resume.

As a seriously prolific character actor, he once played a redshirt on the original Star Trek series... and survived the episode.

There are few commercials I enjoy. I'm a stalwart of the mute button when I watch TV. But I miss Goldsmith.

You have to admit, Random Frog Lady certainly derailed any discussion on unfortunate historical events.

As for things to tell, I learned this past weekend that I have a vast number of living and dead family members who are/were/will be members of various secret societies. I maintain nobody got anything done while in these various societies but it does sort of explain certain... things...

I mean, I knew about Grandpa. But I had underestimated everyone else.

As an outsider(not American), what offends me about the history and discussion about the US communists, is that it is even considered moved to Beekeepers before the discussion has even become heated.

Are the facts embarrassing to some Americans?

Yeah, I can imagine that they are.

Most countries have dirt that we don't like totalk about.

Being able to talk about it in a calm and rational way is the sign of a mature population.

Spot on Gadgetman. Frankly all history has a political aspect. It's almost impossible to discuss anything that has happened over the past 150 or so years without betraying some sort of interest or judgement.

I found it amusing when they cancelled the new most interesting man in the world. Apparently he just wasn't all that interesting.

Well, I for one didn't like him as much as I liked Goldsmith. And for all that, it's not like either actor DID all that much in any of the commercials.

It's my understanding, though, that when an actor becomes a "personality," like Flo in the Progressive commercials? Not only do you have to pay them residuals every time the commercial is shown, but by the second, third, fourth commercial, their agents begin to get a little sticky about expanding the amount paid to the actor with each reshowing.

I don't know how much "Flo" gets, but I'm guessing it ain't trivial. Matt LeBlanc is said to have LIVED for some time on the residuals from the commercials he was doing before he landed his role on "Friends."

Could be that Dos Equis just didn't want to pay Goldsmith the amount his agent was pressing for. They should have. On the other hand, I don't drink a whole lot of beer, so it's not like MY opinion matters...

I went and looked in the Apiary gardens and did not find such a thread.

And I guess my memory is poor or I missed some or all of these posts before they were dealt with.

A couple of things regarding this thread.

First you may have noticed the Little Fuzzy discussion is missing.

Thats because I felt it was deserving of being continued in its own thread which I have moved to here:

https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/87298-little-fuzzy-book-series/

The second thing you may have noticed is this thread is now locked.

It’s the decision of the Moderation Team that the “Don’t ask me anything. Tell me something thread.” has become a second Randomness thread.

As such we ask that you continue any such discussions in that thread as this one is now closed.
