Anyone else digging the new Oathmark plastics as much as I am

Recommended Posts

Just saw an email from Northstar mentioning heavy dwarves for Oathmark. Like the looks of the sprue. I can see another Northstar order coming up and I haven't even done anything with the other dwarves yet. I've got 4 of the female Frostgrave soldiers painted and about 6 others partially done out of about 20.

I gather that there are more dwarfs on their way - this time in heavier armor.

*EDIT* Wow, I was late out of the chute....

Heeey, are those little extra bits meant to be musical or drinking horns?

... yes? Both? Either?

Depending on how the heads are sculpted, the heavy Dwarf infantry spares might be a good upgrade for the regular Dwarfs. I have a pet peeve against figures wearing armor but NOT a helmet!

Damon.

That might explain why there are so very many heads on that frame. ::):

That is a surprising amount of heads.  It looks to compete with the Wizard sprue.

Drinking horns and musical horns usually have differing numbers of holes, although I suppose they could be beer funnels that hold a note.

True, but at this scale, you can only usually see the one hole.

I think that the Frostgrave Soldiers sets - male and female - are part of why Megan is looking at running a Northlands campaign in the nearish future.

That and Skyrim. (She is liking Skyrim a lot more than I did - I think she is working her way through all the Companion Quests.)
