Aeon Trespass: Nymphs

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Aeon Trespass: Nymphs is a beautiful series of pin-up style miniatures inspired by Greek mythology and the Science Fantasy genre. Each Nymph is a highly detailed resin miniature in the 32mm scale – perfect for painters, collectors and wargamers alike – and comes with a scenic base, an art print and a hand-numbered authenticity note, everything enclosed in hand-stamped craft box. This Kickstarter is a limited collector’s run, which means the miniatures may not be available outside the campaign or, if they are available, they will be released as an unnumbered Encore edition.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

We are a group of passionate professionals, eager to leave our mark upon the miniatures hobby world. With this first limited collection we wanted to make sure our message was clear: we strive for original content of the highest quality. Our pin-up models were inspired by Greek paintings and sculptures. We’ve taken care to be inclusive, choosing to go for the varied natural body types over photoshopped magazine cover artificial beauty. Bottom line: we want you to be satisfied and awed by the hard work of our fantastic artists and sculptors.

WHAT IS AEON TRESPASS?

Art doesn’t exist in a void. It needs context to be fully realized and appreciated. The great paintings and sculptures are as much a fruit of the artist’s labor, as they are of the times they were created in. So too, we wanted to root our Nymphs in a world that is more tangible and ‘lived-in’. We love world-building and game design; cool giant monsters, grizzled anti-heroes and epic tales of adventure. All that – and much more! – awaits you in the world and game of Aeon Trespass.

The story takes places many years after Olympus fell - an event ominously called the Eschaton - when mortals have to deal with both, an unchecked technological progress and a return to more primal beliefs that precede even the old gods. It is a dark, dangerous world, stalked by kaiju-like monsters and visited by otherworldly entities, but one not without hope: courage, valor, loyalty and a penchant for beauty, they all shine the brightest in the pitch black of night.

NYMPHS

The Nymphs are a group of powerful entities that sprang into being after the old gods of Olympus died. Their motivations are unknown and their methods inscrutable. What is known, is that they like to play with the fates of mortals... Below you will find a short description of each Nymph and their place in the world.

This is just a small foray into that world: a wetting of your feet, if you will. Inspired by the great storytelling works of Dark Souls, Malazan Book of the Fallen and Kingdom Death, we’ve sprinkled small pieces of lore into those sections that will inform you further on the world of Aeon Trespass and point into the direction of its mysteries and secrets.

Nice concept.  I like the artwork.  It just bugs me that the surfaces have no texture.  Smooth skin, smooth hair, smooth metal, smooth cloth, smooth stone, etc.

Thank you for your kind words. I believe the smoothness may be an effect of the way the minis are presented - but I will ask our graphic designers about it. Here's a better look at our figures:

@IntoTheUnknown the mods will merge them..

I really like these, but I'm more of a 54mm scale painter these days..

I do get you, 54mm really brings out the details. We thought about it, but we're a small studio and introducing 54mm sculpts into the mix would really complicate the campaign both SKU and shipping/handling wise. We wanted to be certain we can fulfill all our goals, so we opted out. If there is interest, we will revisit this idea in the future.

It's a funny thing, because Kingdom Death - and Adam Poots as a person - inspired us to create our company and to to try and fulfill our dreams - but the artists that drew and sculpted that particular nymph had no previous knowledge of KD:M whatsoever.

I'm very picky about pin-up models but these are very nice and I like the detail of both the background and the concept art.  Not sure if I'll be pledging, but I'm going to have to make note of the studio name.  ^_^

We'd like to have you - but fair enough! ;) If you like what you see, but don't decide to pledge, like us on Facebook and other social media outlets - and tell your friends! We're just starting out as a team and every bit of word of mouth helps :)

I am also tempted, despite not usually being the kind who paints for display. Because these really are lovely.

For now... I have made a note to mention it in the next Oracle kickstarter post I make. ^_^

Weird. The pictures are full of beautiful nearly-nude females, and I still haven't backed?

Not certain why, but they just don't draw my interest.

There are some obvious similarities to Kingdom Death, especially in regards of packaging, art cards, etc. This isnt a bad thing,  and most likely intended too, and I think it is pretty smart to ride on the wave of success of someone else. As of right now, nothing really makes me drop everything and run for the credit card, but I'll keep my eyes on it and as soon something pops up that I like, I'll hit that pledge button.

Hey Samurai Jack! Thank you for posting this. I've made a thread of my own about it, right about the same time ;) Do you want me to delete it or merge threads?

If I back at the Dreamer level for 1 miniature, the cost will be $18 + $12 for shipping for a total of $30?

Am I doing the math correctly?

Just a fun little surprise I happened across earlier.  No pictures of the dice and it's ending today, but some really nice ones on their store and I've friends who own some so I thought I'd give it a go.

      About
Welcome to the Great Wall draft page – the campaign is not live yet, but we will be gradually adding more and more information about the game here! We are incredibly excited to hear your feedback, so please let us know what you think. If it looks interesting to you - make sure to click the "Notify me on launch" button!
The Great Wall is a new major board game from Awaken Realms (creators of Nemesis, Tainted Grail, Etherfields and many other acclaimed products). Players will take the roles of generals of an ancient oriental empire who lead the defence against ruthless hordes. You will need to gather allied advisors, manage your workers, recruit armies and, together with other players, raise and defend the Great Wall! As the game progresses, you will often need to co-operate or negotiate with other players, but make no mistake – there can be only one winner!
This fresh worker (and soldier!) placement game for 1-4 players faces them with many difficult choices and often pushes them to interact with each other. You will be assigning your workers to eleven different locations, such as Tea House, Quarry, Messenger Post, or Barracks, using special Command cards that have additional effects. Production in locations activates ONLY when all their slots are filled, but filling them all by yourself can result in a penalty. On top of that, players can buy overseers who will give additional output every time a location becomes activated. This creates a lot of involving long- and short-term strategies.
Each player starts with one unique General, characterized by their asymmetric power, as well as the production level. From there, you will further customize your economic engine and fine-tune your strategy by recruiting advisors who provide additional bonuses.
Eventually, a Wall Defence phase beings, where players place previously build armies on Horde Cards – earning Honor (Victory points) and looting resources from the defeated troops. This requires smart management of three types of units: Archers, Spearmen and Cavalry. Players place these soldiers one by one, playing the Tactics cards that create another layer of interaction.
Gain meditation by shooting with the Zen Archer, then spend meditation on a Cavalry Squad Leader to move your Cavalry around the battlefield faster, and – finally – finish off by getting extra Honor for each of the Cavalry’s engagements thanks to the Banner Holder. There are endless possibilities for great combos and memorable plays.
On top of that, your Advisors and General might give your troops extra abilities, such as shooting twice or looting twice the resources!
All of the above makes the Great Wall one of our most strategically involving designs that will be appreciated by many different groups of players: those who love euro-styled games with their intricate economies and engine-building, those who love over-the-table play, bargaining and negotiations – and finally, those who simply like to wage war on a beautiful map.
