So... CMON just added another complete tribe to the core set.  All in all, there are going to be 102 minis for $120.  I think that's reasonable per mini, but have to agree that many look the same-ish.  I'm still in, but kind of reconsidering if I want to get extra stuff to sell.  Thinking about it.

Yes. All in all the price per miniature will be quite low. I am meh about the game. But I could sure use the figures to represent Reavers for my Firefly RPG. I just dont know what I am going to do with 102 of them. They will however be super easy to paint.

I just read on Beasts of War- a commenter claims the "Must buy core set" policy has changed:

I suspect that this will lead to many more sales of Vore Nash minis.

Well that stinks.  I was going to go in for the fungus undead tribe....

I guess I missed it.

Well the pledge manager is now open,

as has become common with these things shipping costs seem to be higher than expected for many areas (especially for people trying to load up on stuff who didn't read that shipping estimates were based on the base game only),

not so bad for the UK ($32 for the main box, $45 for everything),

no word yet from CMON about whether it's an error, but given that prices have gone up again in the courier shipping world, and they look to have ended up 'unexpectedly' having to split ship some of their projects I suspect it's going to stick

Pledge Manager reminder! Plus samples!

Posted by CMON (Creator)

Hail Savages!

We'd like to remind everybody that you have 1 week left to finish your Pledge Manager. The deadline for submitting and paying for your pledge is May 18! Please make sure you have your order Confirmed by then. We are finalizing the production quantities based on the confirmed pledges, and specially since this is an exclusive game, with no extra quantity produced for retail, there's a strong chance of us not having enough product for backers who confirm after the deadline.

so unlike most CMON projects if you miss the deadline you run a real risk of not getting anything (other than an eventual refund -KS fees)

This has started shipping. People in China (and presumably the rest of Asia) have already received their pledges. In the comments section someone posted an unboxing, the box is gigantic, dwarfing a box of Mythic Battles Pantheon and Zombicide.

From the update:

"Asia - Already shipping. Everybody should get theirs this month.

Australia - Shipping to backers in late January.

Europe - Shipping to backers in early February.

Canada - Shipping to backers in early February.

USA - Shipping to backers in early February (including Latin America)."

Well, it wasn't early Feb as predicted, but I did get my game March 1st. The box is really huge. Like so huge I don't know where I'll store it, it would never fit on a shelf. So I'm not going to open it until I can figure out what to do with it. I did get a couple add ons though, so I do have a couple pics. I got the mother prophecy addon because of the awesome looking mounts:

20190302_032946.jpg.92e43fa19b197a552d03f4664b37b7e8.jpg

The lady on the horse (Flaya) is facing away because boobies. She's on a great looking mount. The Reaper guy is there for scale. The Moon Champion is a very nice looking figure, as is the Mother. But the real centerpiece is The Twins and their truly massive steed:

20190302_032848.thumb.jpg.300c632a943ab016e6cc47292d78ecb0.jpg

Fantastic looking mini, though mine came with the blade snapped off of it's weapon (a halberd or glaive of some sort). It should be easy to glue back on though.

I also picked up the Tribe of Um'Tull, though I don't remember why. Probably because of the shaman riding a wolf:

20190302_033714.thumb.jpg.424e9e57553aea7064ac6728df61b298.jpg

She's facing away (boobies again). This five of seven unique figures in the set. The big guy has a huge grin, I think he'll end up being an ogre boss in a D&D campaign at some point.

Overall, a great looking bunch of minis. I'm looking forward to trying the game...after I figure out where to store it.

CMON are pretty good about replacing stuff so send them a photo (although they tend not to acknowledge they've got your request so the replacement will randomly show up some time later)

after all you paid good money for it so you might as well get an intact one (then you can go to town converting the broken one)

They're coming to get you, Barbara...

"Night of the Living Dead: A Zombicide Game, a new standalone addition to the Zombicide franchise, will bring two great horror franchises together. The George A. Romero movie set the standard for zombie movies. Meanwhile, Zombicide set the standard for cooperative zombie-fighting games. Both were filled with groundbreaking innovations. Bringing the two together has brought more innovations to bear. In this article, we’re taking a look at some of the new elements in Zombicide that make it a loving homage to the movie that started it all. ... For example, the game’s tiles recreate not only the interior of the house, but also the surrounding land. Fans of the movie will see that the house has been lovingly recreated in detail and they’ll be able to pick out specific elements from the film on the game board. This recreation has been updated with Zombicide’s usual movement system, with different spaces delineated for gameplay. ... The zombies (or, more appropriately, ghouls) have also been reworked to fit a more Night of the Living Dead feel. Zombicide players will recognize the Walkers and Fatties from previous games, however, they will now have to deal with new threats in the form of Breakers and Ghoul Relatives. Yes, Runners and Abominations have been removed from the game! But players shouldn’t breathe a sigh of relief yet. Breakers can, as the name suggests, break through the barricades that the survivors have created. What was once thought a safe haven will no longer be once a Breaker ghoul has its way. Meanwhile, Ghoul Relatives represent characters that the survivors had once known in life. Their appearance will cause mental anguish to the survivors. It’s not easy to have to shoot someone you’ve known and loved. The addition of these two new ghouls will pose different, and arguably more dangerous, types of threats. Using old tactics will not be feasible in these new games. Forget what you know about Zombicide’s main antagonists." https://cmon.com/news/melding-undead-classics-together

Ghouls, btw, were really what these creatures were called. Zombies wasn't used until later. "For anyone that isn't familiar with the classic 1968 film directed by the late George Romero, Night of the Living Dead never uses the word "zombie," referring to the shuffling, virus-infected living dead as "ghouls" (which is more appropriate, given their hunger for human flesh). The association with zombies largely came from the sequel, Dawn of the Dead (1978), which used "zombie" in place of "ghoul" and which was distributed internationally under the title Zombi. ... Perhaps Romero changed the name because he discovered the word "zombie" in the interim. Ghouls were quite popular across the western world for centuries, or at least since Grimm's fairy tales. But zombies are from Haitian voodoo, and were largely unknown to the public at the time." https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/6ntim5/how_did_the_ghouls_from_night_of_the_living_dead/

Yes, the KS is coming out right after the Zombicide 2nd edition KS, and in the middle of the holiday shopping season. The game's had delays in development (makes sense, with the most game changes I've seen in a Zombicide game) and, iirc, was meant for retail.

Information is growing on Cmon page and BGG.  This rings all the right bells and is likely to mug me quite severely.

      From the Facebook announcement:

"The ritual has started, and there’s no stopping it now. The only hope for the Investigators…and the rest of the world for that matter, is to disrupt it just enough so that when the Elder One arrives, it will be vulnerable for a split second. Just long enough to kill it!
They’ll get their chance when Cthulhu: Death May Die comes to Kickstarter on July 10 at 3 PM EST. The new game from CMON and Guillotine Games combines the creative talents of Eric M. Lang and Rob Daviau. Stay tuned as we reveal more about the Investigators risking their lives and the unspeakable horrors they will face off against."

Or as Mr. Lang says in interviews, the game where you "shoot Cthulhu in the face."

Overview Earthworm Jim has been a beloved character in video games since his launch in 1994, but due to the limitations of cartridge space, his epic story was never properly told. I'm not only the creator of Earthworm Jim, but I've spent the last 20 years making 18 graphic novels! EARTHWORM JIM is about the world's most unlikely hero... a worm! The evil Queen of Insectica has a super-suit invented that is capable of altering the universe when it is stolen by her ugly sister, Princess What's-Her-Name... Earthworm Jim... from the creator of Earthworm Jim!
My name is Doug TenNapel and I created Earthworm Jim 26 years ago. Though "EWJ" appeared in award winning video games, an animated series and a toy line, his epic story has yet to be told! We all know the character, but none of us know the story. This deficit in the universe ends NOW!
(P.S. Do sign up for the Earthworm Jim Comic mailing list! http://earthwormjimcomic.com/ )

For the first time in 27 years I am crafting an epic graphic novel worthy of the true fans of Earthworm Jim in a multi-book set! Let's launch the cow!

My last Indiegogo campaign was for a comic book called Bigfoot Bill and my backers blew me away by providing $196k in funding! Together, we were able to make a hard bound, giant book with over-the-top gold-leafing and embossing on the cover. With your help, we can make Earthworm Jim: LAUNCH THE COW a beautiful volume that is a work of art unto itself. It goes on the coffee table, not some box of wrinkled, floppy comics in the basement. This story will be a sprawling love letter to the fans of Earthworm Jim!

YOU are my Plan A. There is no other plan!
Making a big, beautiful book requires a lot of funding. Paper costs go up every year, and I only use top quality end sheets, cover stock and print work. It's made in America in my state so I can oversee every step of production.

The book will start as a handsome hardbound edition, oversized at 9" x 12" and 160 pages long! It documents the origins of the super suit and how it got to earth to make our favorite hero. You'll see some familiar characters ripped straight out of the video game like: Peter Puppy, Princess What's-Her-Name, Psycrow, the hideous Professor Monkey for a Head, Queen Slug-for-a-Butt and Evil the Cat!

The Making Of EARTHWORM JIM Book!
Your Earthworm Jim: Launch the Cow comic is lonely and needs a companion...

The "Making Of The Earthworm Jim Book" is a perfect companion to the comic bookk. It will also be hardbound, 9" x 12" and starts at 64 pages (But I KNOW we can do a lot better than that!). It has a comprehensive backstory on all of the main characters and villains. I think it's tacky to have too much expository dialogue on everyone's past, so it's better to unfurl that in this book. I give you the why behind the entire Earthworm Jim universe... and yes, I'm building a universe!

I recently had a reunion with the whole Earthworm Jim game team and I got to interview everyone. We talked about how Earthworm Jim came to be and I will document that many close calls and freak accidents that had to fall into place for it to happen. There will be team bios, and a catch up on what everyone has been doing over the last 25 years since we got together.

The Shiny Team section of the book has portraits of the talented artists, programmers and musician and the photos were even taken by David Perry the Earthworm Jim programmer!

I'll show every step of the comic book's production, from raw ideas on the white board to printing every notecard I used in breaking down the story. You'll see the raw pencilled pages, inked pages with washes applied and I even scan my script pages that are covered in pencil re-writes!

Who remembers this cartridge and packaging art by Mike Koelsch...?

I've asked Mike Koelsch to paint a new "90s-style EWJ cover" for the Making Of book! Koelsch will give a step-by-step story on how he illustrated EWJ including a sneak peek into his studio madness. (Check out Koelsch's website here: http://www.sporkunltd.com/) He has also allowed me to make prints of the cover and the original is available on our highest backer tier. I'll put it in a beautiful frame with matting so it's ready to hang in your home!
Here's Mike giving step by step progress on the cover:

I've got perks where you can own the original comic pages, the book covers and enjoy frame-worthy prints plus a perk where I will draw you an original signed Earthworm Jim head-sketch in your book!

      3 ART PRINTS!
I hope to make three collectable prints with each Earthworm Jim book by guest artists, and these are the first three. Note: They will only be offered on this campaign and won't be offered on any future campaigns. The first is by Mike Koelsch, the artist who did all of the cartridge and packaging illustrations for Earthworm Jim 1 and 2. The next two are from the CreatureBox boys Greg and Dave!

      FUND THE TEAM:
The funds will go to a costly print run, my letterer Eric Weathers, flatter Radka Kavalcova, my colorist Katherine Garner, book designer Joe Potter and shipping fees. Here's a sampling of the team's test pages so far:

      The Art of Bookmaking
I've spent years making graphic novels and Earthworm Jim is probably my most well-known creation, yet his story hasn't been told. This is my chance to do the best job I can to entertain you and your backing will make this book a fantastic work of art.

I don't see comics as disposable rags made to read once then toss aside. I spend a lot of time writing and story and crafting every page and merely reading some thin floppy or a PDF isn't the experience I'm going for. This book will be something you can enjoy for a lifetime, it's literature, not pop-garbage and I want to stand on the tip-toes of my ability to reach for the highest possible craft I can accomplish!

My track record in this arena has few peers. I Kickstarted two sketchbook archives where we managed leather covers, gold gilded edges and the best printing money can buy. These are one-of-a-kind collector's items that are not available in stores. The book honors the backers who made them happen. I write for the most diverse audience imaginable, and the backers constantly tell me, "I got more than I paid for!"

If you look at my books that are made outside of Indiegogo, you'll see that they don't have the over-the-top printing production I can pull off through crowd funding. Only through Indiegogo will you find foil-stamped gold cover art, UV gloss coatings, embossing and de-bossing! I hope to explore new printing techniques that make these hard bound books the kind of items you show off to your friends with a durability that ensures a great re-read for the rest of your life!

For more on the Bigfoot Bill campaign click here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/doug-tennapel-s-bigfoot-bill-graphic-novel/x/838702#/
I spend a lot of time putting these books together, it's time away from my family and I've dedicated my art philosophy and have the highest commitment to being transparent to my backers, include them in every step of the process and take the moral contract between backer & creator seriously.

      Why Beale Air Force Base?
When Crew Chief Matt Konar was allowed to choose any artist to paint the nose art on his KC135 refueling plane he wanted something like his favorite character Earthworm Jim! A friend put us in contact, and I designed the artwork for the plane and attended the commissioning ceremony on May 5th. The whole base came out and I felt so humbled to get to help America's finest that I wanted to do something special for those folks and give YOU that same feeling.

By backing the Beale Air Force tier, I hope to send one copy of the Earthworm Jim comic to all 800 people on that base just in time for Christmas! As a thank you, I will send you a signed book!

Here's a sample page from the comic:
