Club
I just ordered a vanquisher; I'm planning to cut the guns off the right arm and convert a couple battletech Atlas to Atlas II. Which will leave me with a dismembered Rach bulletspammer. Any suggestions on what I should do with it?
Bruunwald
Whenever I have spare guns from CAV or related Battletech type games, I use them to replace arms on ogres or other Large sized creatures, to turn them into cyborgs.
Brother Jim
You could get some plastic tubes that would fit over the old guns, glue them where the old guns used to be and just tell your opponents that it's a stock Vanquisher with added barrel shrouds. Jeneki
I've done plastic tubes guns a few times, they can be pretty great if you cut and arrange them in a hex shape for a 6-barrel rotary.
Club
yeah, but there's going to be nothing to connect the tubes to - he'll be missing his arm to (and possibly past) the elbow
Pegazus
Well, making new arms could be fun, but might be pointless. Could turn it into a ECM/recon figure by building a module to go over the cockpit and attach in to where the arms would have gone. Sort of like what they put on AWACS aircraft. Barring that, chop it up further then base it on a 2 or 3 inch base, and paint it to look like wreckage. Then you can use it either as décor or gaming terrain.

I'm thinking the bowls of two plastic teaspoons minus their handles, glued together lip-to-lip, scored with a knife to represent panel lines. Build a custom variant of the Vanquisher in CAV CP to include an APA (or, if you want to support the Atlas II, make a custom BattleMech with ECM/targeting computer). Weird-O
If you have the appropriate bits(Mechwarrior Dark Age stuff is a good source for this), you could replace the gun arm with some form of industrial equipment(digging arm, combine, whatever looks good) and call it a combat engineering unit. Just say the funky arm is a minesweeper or something. :)

Or maybe use a couple strip styrene and sequins to make a missile launcher. Or maybe both and magnetize them modular.
