Dwarven Forge KS6 Caverns Deep

Recommended Posts

Yes, I have several minis that either have only been used once or haven't been used at all, and I still am a collector as well.  I guess what I'm saying is while people say the DF tiles are expensive, if you look at the cost per hour of use they are likely cheaper than your typical mini in most circumstances.

Hello Talae

The top picture is a mix of KS2 and basic KS6 pieces, showing how well they work together and how you can use the basic KS6 pieces to either make more organic caverns/get in and out of the 2x2 grid.

The bottom picture is just some basic KS6 pieces in a close up.

DF has plans for more innovative/wow pieces but they are holding those cards close till the KS starts or is closer to starting.

I am very happy to have even these basic pieces to add to the variety of my KS2 sets.

I am sure it will. DF released a redone 8 inch by 8 inch flagstone floors from Castles with magnets.

The new one is also in Dwarvenite instead of Dwarvenite-G.

I wish I had the cash for that right now. Not a fan of the G version.

Here are some pics of a build showing how the new pieces can make caverns in more natural shapes.

These are still pretty basic pieces,  once the KS begins the more wild stuff will be shown, but I will be very happy to get these pieces to make my caverns even more natural and weird shapes.

Here is a color chart made by a fellow DF fan that helps show the different pieces

That color coded image is super helpful!

Still not sure that I can justify the cost, but I am likely to be more sold on accessories and elevation.

Here I will paint the inhabitants of the world beneath us.
You will find Drow, Myconids, Beholders and all sorts of cave dwelling creatures here.
I might also try my hand at some terrain or buildings.

      Some stuff that awaits painting:

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...
