Dwarven Forge KS6 Caverns Deep

I like how they have structured this one to minimize core pieces and let backers with tons of older caverns eventually just get the newer custom pieces per encounter. Looks like it will be less of a headache to optimize than ks5 for that class of backer.

Definitely looking forward to what the outdoors sets offer.

This.

So, getting everything in the painted variety is like $4500. That is pretty crazy. Like, a decent percentage of a car or house payment crazy.

Right so I have looked into KS6 and dammnnnn that one is a lot more expensive than KS5. I understand they have more costs, but damn. Most 'encounters' are one (small) room and ... I might just pick up a few odds and ends, but this is very expensive.

There are also some weird things like you pay $10 and $6 shipping and tax just for the privilege of choosing your own dungeon. So you are paying $6 shipping on... nothing? Then there is the fact that import taxes should be based off how much something costs, yet the shipping + tax values of painted vs unpainted are exactly the same... Even though the painted ones should be worth more (they cost more afterall) and should thus require more taxes then unpainted.

These sort of things really feel as quite 'sneaky' to me. Too rich for my blood.

The more I look at it the more i think i will wait for the add-on. Most of the adventure pieces don't appel to me. As someone who doesn't have any cavern (and still waiting for my KS5) i'm looking more for table coverage and elevation than blings. I hope the underdoom is something like the lava bridge in terms of what I am looking for.

The ice cavern is super appealing to me as an add-on to the old cavern set (plus I like the newer magnetized part design), but wow that's a big, expensive encounter set.

I'll have to think hard on this one.

Back when the KS2 caverns KS started many people commented on how much more expensive it was than KS1 dungeons, so I am not surprised that the same thing is happening now from KS5 to KS6.

Cavern sculpts are way move detailed with nooks and spikes so it takes what I believe were called sliding molds back in KS2 plus some of these KS6 peices a huge.

If you are looking for table coverage in caverns then KS2 sets are the way to go.  I love my KS2 caverns but I am ready to get some KS6 caverns to add more elevation, variety and a more organic lay out.

I could just get a couple encounter sets and call it good but I really like many of the KS6 peices so I expect to get more than a few by the end of the Pledge Manager.

Oh good it is not just me ( so expensive!).  Looks like I will be waiting and piecing together something in the addons like their last one.  In for a whole $10 until that opens up.  I did pretty good with KS5 since I don't own any of their previous stuff.  Hoping I can do the same here, with maybe a few more "special" pieces this time around since I have a slightly bigger budget.

I do like the corrupted monsters they are including.  I am pretty excited knowing each pack should be available by the end.  I also like that the individual packs are eligible for SGs in this one.
