ladystorm
Update: July 20, 2018 Pledge Manager Extended! As announced a few updates ago, we have extended the closing date of the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager from July 31 to September 3, 2018. More detail on the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager later in the update. ENnie voting is live! Our Ma’al Drakkar is nominated in the ENnie Awards Best Miniature Product Category. If you are so inclined, please go check it out and vote! Voting for the ENnie Awards runs until July 21. http://www.ennie-awards.com/vote/2018// First Look: It is time to play catch up and share some of the items that were shown only as concept art during the campaign. The Deep Gnomes, sculpted by Bobby Jackson, from the Darkreach Expansion. The Darkreach Expansion is a $50 item in the Reaper Bones 3 Pledge Manager. While we previously shared the green of one of these two, both of these Killer Fungus, sculpted by Bob Ridolfi, are found in the Darkreach Expansion. The Darkreach Expansion is a $50 item in the Reaper Bones 3 Pledge Manager. The Spirit Beast, sculpted by Julie Guthrie, found in the Dreadmere Expansion. The Dreadmere Expansion is a $50 item in the Reaper Bones 3 Pledge Manager. As part of the Core Set, Bryn, the half-elf rogue, sculpted by Gene Van Horne, can be found in the Core Set Extras: Sophie and Friends set. The Core set is $100 and The Core Set Extras: Sophie and Friends set is $4 in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager. These images are of primed metal masters that we sent off to be used in the mold making process. These are not production samples. Painted: And now, let’s take a look at some painted models from Michael Proctor’s workbench. Baba Yaga’s Hut is a $20 add on option in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager. from the right from the back from the left The Maggotcrown Ogre Juggernaut is part of the Fan Favorites Expansion, $50 in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager. and the back Next Month, we have something different bursting through. Question of the Week: What about the base for the Stygian Barge? So, we get lots of questions each week covering a variety of topics. This week, we’ll answer the barge base query. In our initial plan, we wanted to produce a wicked cool base for the barge, and cast it in translucent green material. We even went so far as to include this information in our graphics. Unfortunately, we couldn't quite execute the design we had in mind. We had several iterations of the base digitally sculpted and printed some of them out, but none of them met our design and quality control standards. In the end, we felt that it just looked better without the base. Reminders: TLDR • Once an order is locked in, we cannot make changes to that order. Substitutions and deletions are not possible; however you may order new or additional items (via a new order) through the Reaper Pledge Manager. • Speaking of which, the Reaper Pledge Manager has been extended and is scheduled to close on September 3, 2018. At 11:59 PM CST. • At this time, less than 1000 original backers have not locked in their orders. Don’t be that person who gets nothing shipped because they didn’t lock in! Reaper Pledge Manager We would like to encourage all backers to review their completed orders by following the Completed Orders link on their Bones 4 Pledge Manager. The Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager link is https://ks.reapermini.com/bones4 If you see at least one order under Completed Orders, then you're fine. If you don’t have this link, you still need to finalize your choices and proceed through the checkout process. Before you lock in an order, please confirm you are using the correct email address and your pledge credit is being shown. If not, follow instructions below (Login Emails). Also an important note that seems to confuse people - no pledge level automatically includes *anything*. For example: If you want a Bones 4 Core Set, then you must select it, no matter which level you pledged under. If you want to spend your pledge on other rewards and not get a Bones 4 Core Set, that's OK. But nothing will be added to your cart for you. Ever. Remember, you can lock in more than one order, so there's no penalty to locking in now - in fact, because we generate our shipping charges live from the US, UK, or AU Carrier services, waiting could raise your postal rates, causing you to owe more! Pledge Manager Login Emails We repeat this a lot, but it is literally the most common problem we see in our inboxes, so we will continue to repeat it: It is mandatory that, when you log in to the Reaper Pledge Manager, you use the same email address that you use to login to your Kickstarter account. The only way we know which pledge was yours is by matching those emails. If you log in with a different email, your pledge credit will not be applied to your order, and you will be charged higher prices for your rewards. You can resolve this in one of two ways. You could create a second login with the correct email address. Or, you could login, click on Account Details, and change your email address to the one you use on Kickstarter.com. Then log out and back in. Other Problems If you have other problems, please email us at [email protected] Be sure to specify what project you're having a problem with (this is Bones 4). That same help desk handles all customer service for all of Reaper's retail and consumer orders, as well as our previous projects, so they need your help knowing how to best help you. Please don’t include screenshots or attachments, as we have stringent security protocols which filter these out and delete the messages containing them. Convention Schedule Our next scheduled show is ReaperCon, August 30th - September 3rd! You can get your tickets now at www.reapercon.com! Update Schedule Our August Updates will be on the second and fourth Fridays, the 10th and the 24th to accommodate vacation schedules and Reaper Con! NovanMK3
So I came to the reaper site after being away for awhile. I saw the pledge manager for the Bones 4 core set. I did not join the kickstarter (sadly was unaware of it) so I thought this was a way to get the core set even if I did not support the kickstarter. I chose the core set, put in a credit card, and paid. It said it completed successfully and that it would ship in wave 14. What is wave 14 and when will it acutally ship? Thanks ahead of time for the help!
ladystorm
On 7/31/2018 at 4:33 PM, NovanMK3 said: What is wave 14 and when will it actually ship? Bones 4 shipping is estimated to begin in February of 2019. We ship each wave one after the other stopping long enough to refresh supplies. Last project, we shipped all waves in 18 days. Disclaimer, the AU & UK hubs had different timing. We anticipate that we have resolved issues with the hubs and will make this a smoother ship window.
ladystorm
Update: July 20, 2018 As announced a few updates ago, we have extended the closing date of the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager from July 31 to September 3, 2018. Yes, this means the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager is still open. More details on the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager later in the update. Nyarlathotep: We caught up to Kevin Williams, the sculptor of Nyarlathotep, and asked a few questions about the process of summoning, er, sculpting this Lovecraftian deity. How did Nyarlathotep come about? Kevin: We felt Nyarlathotep was an appropriate addition to compliment the short series of Mythos pieces we have produced. Izzy Callier drew up the original design some time back before Bones 4. Serious discussion over posing and design between our Art Director Ron Hawkins, Izzy and myself made this a true group effort. What was the most challenging part of sculpting Nyarlathotep? Kevin: The most challenging part was the hieroglyphics. Getting those onto the base and having them scaled right took more time than expected. What was the most satisfying part of the sculpting process? Kevin: The most satisfying part of sculpting Nyarlathotep was holding the physical object. A few parts failed the printing process and required multiple printings. I was a little surprised at the size, it ended up a little bigger than anticipated. You can find the full 3D turn around of Nyarlathotep in Update #90. Painted: We caught up to Michael Proctor, the painter of Nyarlathotep, and asked a few questions about painting Nyarly. How did you settle on this color scheme? Michael: The overall color scheme was determined by Ron. He asked for a reddish brown look that could fit into a desert style theme. So for the skin areas, I used a combination of Ruddy Leather 9109 and also mixed in the Dark Skin Triad 9755 (contains 9040-9042). I added some textures (lines and dashes) with Chestnut Gold 9073 and Palomino Gold 9074. Then for the tentacle portions, I went for dark magenta tones. Using Burgundy Wine 9025 and Old West Rose 9283. I chose the dark magenta tones to add a little contrast to the skin colors but not too much. What was the most challenging part of this model? Michael: it was a great model to paint. That Kevin Williams is a great sculptor; he uses so much crazy detail. I think I changed the spikes and teeth on the piece about three times. I wanted them to not blend in with the rest of the piece but still standout. I ended up using the Olive Skin Triad 9774 (contains 9220-9222) and it had just enough green in the mix to add a tiny bit of contrast. What did you enjoy the most? Michael: Kevin Williams is a great friend and I had the opportunity to see this model come to life in the sculpting stages. I was really impressed how Kevin was able to take the amazing 2D art from Izzy and translate it to a 3D sculpt. The fun part was that when it was done Kevin reached out to me and asked if I would paint it. It’s really great not only to paint a piece for Reaper but when the sculptor asks you if you would paint his labor of love that’s just cool. That made me want to paint the piece even more. All of the above mentioned colors are currently available in our web store at Reapermini.com. Reminders: TLDR • Once an order is locked in, we cannot make changes to that order. ladystorm
Update #101 Pledge Manager Closing! Update: August 24, 2018 Pledge Manager Closing! As announced a few updates ago, we have extended the closing date of the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager from July 31 to September 3, 2018. This will be our final Update before we close. If you have been waiting, time is up, go lock in your rewards order. First Looks: As we start to receive our production prototypes in from the factories, we wanted to share a few that had only been seen as concept art. The coloration is simply what was used to test the factory mold; the final pieces will arrive in our standard Bones slightly off white. From depths of the Darkreach Expansion, this trio of Troglodytes has arrived. The spearman had not been previously shown like the other two. Rockmaw. Stone Lurker Dark Elf Elite From our Dreadmere Expansion, we have Damaris, Duskwarden. She is shown here with her hat on. We have released a metal version with her hat off. That version is found in our online store here. And finally from the Dreadmere Expansion, by request, we have Julianna the Herbalist. She has been shown now as concept art, a 3D render turn around and as a metal master. Please note, that little hedgehog moved to her skirts from her shoulder. Tricksy fellows, them hedgehogs. The Darkreach and Dreadmere Expansions are available in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager for $50 each. Renders: While we haven't yet received production prototypes for these three, we hadn't shared them past their concept art and felt it important to rectify that before the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager closes on September 3rd. From the Core Set, the female minotaur is sculpted by Jason Wiebe. She is part of the Sophie and Friends Core Extras set. The Sophie and Friends Set is a $4 Extra and the Core Set is $100 in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager. Also from Jason, this Half Orc is from the Stygian Barge set. He will be cast in translucent green. And finally, also ferrying the Stygian Barge, is Charon. Sculpted by Chris Lewis. THe Stygian Barge set is a $30 add-on in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager. Question of the Week: Does the Terrapin’s cargo remove from the shell? So, we get lots of questions each week covering a variety of topics. This week, we’ll address the terrapin and its cargo. As you can see from this production prototype, the terrapin has been cast in multiple pieces. The three primary pieces that make up the terrapin are the body, the shell and the cargo. The bulk of the cargo is removable from the shell, however the shell is not bare. Painting DVDs! The Darksword Miniatures’ Painting DVDs we offered during the Bones I2 and 3 Campaigns were very popular, and we’ve been asked if we could offer that again. Well, we can! This time around, you have your choice of any (or all!) of four fantastic painting DVD sets. The material covers a wide range of subject matter, suitable for almost any level of student. And, except for prep and priming advice, all of these painting techniques work great on Bones! We’re offering these to you (in partnership with Dark Sword Miniatures) at a considerable discount off of retail, making your future skill development more affordable than ever! Explore a variety of styles and techniques in Jennifer Haley and Anne Foerster’s DVD set, shot in an informal and entertaining style to feel like you’ve been brought right up to the painting table with these two award-winning artists. Laszlo Jakusovszky’s much sought after “Hot Lead Series” DVD set bundle, out of print for a while, returns now as a wonderful tool for those who prefer a more structured learning approach. Laszlo covers a range of topics that build upon each other to give you a great foundation in the hobby. When you’re done with those, hone your abilities and get inspired by jumping into Jessica Rich’s exhaustive DVD set, filled with amazing material from this master of freehand and internationally-award-winning painter. And finally, stretch your brain and technique while you absorb two-time overall Crystal-Brush-winner Marike Reimer’s DVD set, a master class from a gifted artist who has her own set of tips, tricks, and a unique style that’s led her to world-wide acclaim. Which brings us to the point, really—EVERYONE works, teaches, and learns a little differently. Each of these DVD sets can give you a little bit more to add to your painter’s toolkit. They might teach you something new entirely, give you a different take on a technique, or hand you a way to break through a block that you’ve been fighting. You might prefer how Marike paints skin tones, how Jessica approaches blending, how Anne paints eyes, how Jen paint faces, and how Laszlo approaches color theory. You will then take all of these different techniques and naturally build upon your own style and approach to miniature painting that suits your desired outcomes. You might simply want to learn how to paint faster and have more visually impressive table top quality miniatures for gaming. Or you might want to really level up and try your hand at competition painting. The knowledge imparted from the painting demonstrations in these videos will make you a smarter and more well-rounded painter at a bare minimum. How far you want to level up your painting is totally your call as you can watch, pause, and paint along with the different topical modules in these DVD sets as many times as needed to achieve the results you are after. And remember, you won’t see them again at this price anytime soon! You can see these rewards and select them in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager in the Painting Instruction on DVD section. Arikiel
Dammit! They raised the price of the shipping YET AGAIN while I wasn't looking. Seems I owe 45 cents. Can I still pay that at this point or is it going to be a problem?
ladystorm
Pledge Manager Closed Update: September 6, 2018 Pledge Manager Closed! Our Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager is now closed. It is no longer possible at this time to add to your pledges for additional rewards. What Happens Now? Now that the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager is closed, we have a fair amount of behind the scenes work to do. We will be gathering final numbers in order to lock in our final ordering of product from the factory. We have to do this quickly in order to remain on track for our expected ship date of February 2019. We have to resolve as many of the incomplete Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager accounts as possible. Our plan is as follows: Incomplete Order in Pledge Manager is equal to or less than the Pledge Amount = we lock the order in; any remaining pledge amount is a donation to the project. Incomplete Order in Pledge Manager is greater than Pledge Amount yet less than a dollar = we will manually lock the order in. These are generally a result of a shipping rate increase and most credit card processors won’t process that low of an amount. Incomplete Order in Pledge Manager is greater than the Pledge Amount = we contact the backer one final time with a short time limit to resolve their order and then purge remaining cart. Unclaimed Pledge = we contact the backer one final time with a short time limit to resolve and then pledge is forfeit. If you have at least one Completed Order, you are not considered to be an Incomplete Order. How does a person check to see if they have a completed order? By following the Completed Orders link on their Bones 4 Pledge Manager. The Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager link is https://ks.reapermini.com/bones4 If you see at least one order under Completed Orders, then you're fine. How does a person update their shipping address? By logging into their Bones 4 Pledge Manager account and making that update. The Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager link is https://ks.reapermini.com/bones4 You may have to refresh the page, clear your cookies or cache and/or log out to see that it did take. Please remember Your Backer Responsibility in this Kickstarter The following paragraphs are taken directly from the Campaign Page with an update to the changed Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager closing date. If you do not log in and confirm your pledge in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager by September 3, 2018, you agree that we have fulfilled our obligations to you in full for payment or donations received. However, we may, at our discretion, refund or ship your pledge if you contact us and confirm your pledge after September 3, 2018. Unconfirmed pledges make it difficult for us to plan production and logistics. If you confirm your pledge late (after September 3, 2018) some items may not still be available. This means that part, if not all, of your rewards may not be available and/or your pledge may be forfeit. You are responsible for all fees associated with the transit and acceptance by you to complete delivery. These include, but are not limited to: import duties or any other duties that may be payable to the relevant and taxing authorities, VAT and GST due and delivery acceptance, brokerage and collection charges. You are required to provide correct address information and ensure this address is deliverable by normal methods before your rewards are shipped. You must have your address correct and up to date in the Reaper Bones 4 Pledge Manager when we announce shipping is beginning. You may change it at any time until then. There may be a shipping surcharge associated with changing countries. Rewards returned to us as undeliverable will be shipped again postage prepaid by the Backer. Reaper Con Reaper Con 2018 was an amazing weekend for us. We had a few display cases up at the show with some of the Bones 4 models. We’re sharing these few images now and will focus on the received Production Masters over the next few updates. All models shown painted by Michael Proctor, Rhonda Bender, and Jen Greenwald. There are a few Bones 3 models in these images, as well. Convention Schedule Our next scheduled show is PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, PA, November 30 – December 2, 2018. We are sponsoring the Paint and Take and will have our retail booth. Stop by and say howdy! Update Schedule Our next September Update will be on the third Friday, the 21st. Lostbug
I’m so confused by that standard response to the shipping question. Specifically, the AU hub will have no waves shipping from it- so, everything from AU will be shipping at once?
ladystorm
All stock is originating here at HQ in Texas. We will pull the AU orders and put them on pallets to freight to the AU hub. The AU hub will take the order and put a shipping label on it. There will be no organization to the order in which the boxes are shipped. No wave order. This is EXACTLY how we fulfilled Bones 3 through the AU Hub. Is that clearer? 3
