Popular Post Geoff Davis
Something in a post I read earlier reminded me of unreasonable demands made by non-painters. A new guy joined our D&D group, so to be friendly I offered to paint a miniature of his character, who was as yet not introduced to the party. He says "Yes please' and the night before the game send me this: I'm thinking, this guys a bit of a $%&^ but I'll show him up. So at the start of the game the next day I gave him this: I shouldn't have bothered, since he rage quit about a month later because we were 'role-playing' too much and not taking the game seriously enough. Anyway, an adaptation of the Royal MacKenzie Tartan for your viewing pleasure. Here is a link to how I painted this. Glitterwolf
That's wonderful! The painting...not the attitude of said player.
Sanael
Having just done some plaid myself, that is some really nice plaid. Jerk of a player, though.

Bruunwald
Whenever someone says "rage quit," I think of some big Cheetos-stained dude flipping a table over, sending cups of Mountain Dew flying. Or, of the story my friend Scott tells, of the time he was beating some kid at 40K at the local GW store, and the kid got angry, and swiped his arm across the table, sending both of their armies hurtling across the room. 2

Hissy-quit would be more like it. His loss, since he ditched a D&D game which has been running with the same core players since around 1988. Not too many new people get invited in. Anyway, back on topic, the secret to the tartan was to cheat. I'm going to post how I did this in the painting tip section. How I cheated at painting a tartan. Schirf
That tartan is fantastic. I'm still a little too intimidated to try, but it's something if like to eventually do. Well done!
Pingo
You didn’t cheat. You painted a tartan the way it’s woven. Looks great! I tried doing something similar a few yars back and bodged it rather badly, but then I wasn’t half so organized and tidy as you. Thank you for posting your notes!
