Just wanted to let my painter exchange partner know that I will be visiting the states for a month so if it arrives in Australia while I am gone, I won't be able to open it until I get home in May.  My husband will let me know when it gets here so I will be able to confirm it arrived, just no unboxing or photos for awhile!

Received my awesome exchange from @Pochi yesterday!

Now I put a lot of random (hopefully) inspirational stuff into my survey (which is why last year I got a CAV painted like a bunny chasing a carrot shaped car.....)but Pochi took it to a whole new level of embracing my randomness 

 

First  up, we have a mighty barbarian (77469: Brand Oathblood, Barbarian).

The inspiration for this guy was the song and video for Holy Diver, by Dio, a song that was bouncing around in my head while I was filling out the survey.

So first off, I need to apologize to  Pochi for making her watch the video, it is a fine example of really cheesy 80s metal videos....could no one show Ronnie how to hold or swing a sword?? Was there no budget to get a real blacksmith in?  Hammer on cold steel?  Quenching in "water"? His blade would not have made the cut.....but I digress....

Back to the fig, isn't he awesome?  The Tats are wonderful.  That tigerskin! 

And the base!  Lovely!  I always ask my partners to push themselves a bit.  Pochi tried out spider webs for the first time and they came out great!

And she snuck in a little easter egg (easter, get it?)

I collect bunny and hare minis, so she hid a tiny little one in the base.  I'm already considering make up a barbarian character that has a pet bunny (who is the brains of the operation)....

 

But that's not all!

 

She also sent along this little vignette, inspired by the included comic.

 

Isn't that awesome?  And hilarious?  And beautifully painted?

Look at the writing on that scroll....I can't write that neatly on...well anything...

 

Ok, now I have to get going and get my exchange finished and sent.

I'm working on the basing for my exchange partner's mini - I finally got an idea, now to see if I can pull it off! Of course, like most of my ideas, it has grown already beyond the KISS rule lol

As someone who watched all the videos on MTV when it actually had music videos....no need to apologize! I had fun painting your minis and am glad you like them! I also love your idea for a barbarian character with a pet bunny!

I apologize to my Exchange partner.  I have the miniature finished but have not had a chance to get out to the post office yet.  Still hoping for tomorrow, but I am extremely lacking in any ambition to do anything.  Its finished and sealed though.  It just needs to travel.

UPDATE! Painting day last Monday was canceled due to MAJOR Computer Problems that ended with a Reinstall of Windows! Laptop is working now and a bit of painting did happen but not a lot. Did pick and prepare 2nd Mini for exchange. So, I'm putting it out there that I may be late this time. I'll do my best to make it not so, but not certain I can. My Apologies in advance should this happen.

Horrible though I am, I will have the mini in the mail tomorrow.  its boxed and addressed, it just needs to make it to the post office.  Too much travel and too much babysitting young engineers.  Soooo much time answering questions about why the real world does not match what they learned.
