I am sorry about missing yesterday.  Things happened.  I didn't see a computer all day.

February 20:

What color is your hair and how do you style it?

Brown with streaks of grey down the sides.

I've never really had a hair style, I just brush and go. Although now it's long-ish it tends to form into a pair of massive corkscrew curls all by itself.

Some people have bad hair days, I've had a bad hair life.

Blondish Brown hair that I part to the side and hope that everything stays down. :P

What country/culture, other than your own, most intrigues/attracts you and why?

I'd say Holland because their gabber scene is downright insane (in a good way), but sadly it loses out to New Zealand, a country I really want to go back to and see the gorgeous beauty of again...  And be the one driving this time! ^_^

Nope, won't see Hobbitton or however it's pronounced/written, I'm going for the natural landscapes and whatnot, as well as some epic views to do my first bungee jump at, ride a jet boat, and of course see the gorgeous views at Cape Rianga, which hopefully this time won't be raining horizontally with a hundred feet of visibility and fog so thick you couldn't see the waves below if you looked down.

Being of legal age this time would also be beneficial in exploring various other things down there too.

I'd also seriously fly down there just for some fresh picked Gala apples.  Man do I miss those from there - the ones at the supermarket here just aren't the same.

Japan.  They have found a way to keep tradition alive while still being so extraordinarily technologically savvy.  I would love to visit Japan for that reason.  Mind you, I realize this would break some of my illusions.

Umm... all of them? Can that be an answer?

Ok, ok. I guess China. They've got a long history, filled with a lot of crazy, sad, and hilarious stuff. Bonus: the historical costumes and the FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Well, thanks in large part to my bride, I've been very focused on China for the last couple of years. Really looking forward to making the trip over to visit!!

I used to have red hair.

Started shaving it off in my thirties, it was so much easier when fighting ( Kickboxing/MMA/Kung Fu etc..)

I kept doing that and I shave once or twice a week.

If it stops growing at all, I will be happy to save the money I spend on razors..

The red has turned a bit grey/blonde these days.

I wonder why? Due to Goblin Math I'm still 20...

Difficult. I love a lot of the Ancient Warrior based cultures and the Romans and Aztecs are on the top of that list, closely followed by Vikings, Greek, Egyptian and Gauls.

In these modern times?

Hard to say...most cultures have blend in with each other, and the ones that didn't aren't very appealing anymore.

Japanese Feudal in the era of Shogun.  There is something fascinating about powerful people living behind paper walls and testing out sword sharpness on peasantry.  The dedication to craftsmanship in the midst of poverty.  Tea ceremonies with so many meanings interpreted by simple motions.  If you were born in the right place and to the right families, it could have been a very interesting time to live in.  If you were born in the wrong ones or after a downward status change, it would be a miserable existence.

There are places that I have dreamed of visiting all my life. If I had to pick just one I think I would like to visit Belgium.

There was a Lady I once knew & worked with briefly, Mary Flack. She came to this country from Belgium as a War Bride.

I have never met a person so passionately alive as Mary. I would dearly love to see a land that could produce such a wondrous

creature.

Always been a fan of Japan, and China to a lesser degree (because anime and Kung Fu movies?). I've visited both of these countries and I find it fascinating how the cultures of these superpowers can be so bewilderingly different than the European ones while being just as "normal".

On the flip side, for some weird reason, the further down South I go, the less interested I get. As if my dislike of hot, damp weather contaminated my interests. Meaning places like southern Asia (Vietnam, India, Malaysia),  Africa or South America are off my list. Sure, the ancient civilizations are interesting, but places like modern Egypt has little in common with that of their ancestors.

P.S. List of countries I've visited:

  1. Canada
  2. USA
  3. France
  4. England
  5. Spain
  6. Italy
  7. Switzerland
  8. Belgium
  9. Netherlands
  10. Russia
  11. China
  12. Japan
  13. Mongolia
  14. Indirectly: Monaco (drove by it while traveling in southern France on our way to Italy)

I've visited a lot of different places due to my time in the Navy; I really don't think I can single one out as more interesting than any of the others.

I want to use this as my answer too.  Honestly.

I'm from the Mid-West United States.  Culture-Wise, that's really about as plain as it gets.  There are so many places/cultures that I would like to experience, and will probably never get the opportunity... It's a long list.  I'm down for anything that is different or can offer some kind of learning experience.

If I were to throw a dart at a map today, I would be aiming for the east/south-east Asia part of the map...
