I can't say that I have one that intrigues me the most. The cultures I have encountered have not made me want to learn more about them (at least beyond the point where my interest has been satisfied), but about as many as I can either as a means of understanding the positions of the cultures I already encountered within the region or merely as a means of trying to understand the rest of the world. All that said, somedays I feel like I don't even understand my own culture.

So difficult to choose! I think I'd go with India though. I've enjoyed every interaction I've had with the food, the festivals, the movies, and the people so far. Plus, I have a friend that's promised to be a tour guide if I can coordinate a trip for when she goes back to visit her family.

For the longest time it was Russia. Started because I met a russian girl. Continued when I married a different russian girl. Fascinating although often brutal history. Many examples of good and bad people. It was my first international experience and I had lots of adventures there. After 17 years and their political views changing the last while I'm not as enamoured any more. Still if you read any of my posts here my russian influences are some of the more interesting parts of my life. Before that and still probably Scotland.

Japan has always been an attraction for me because of both the traditional aspect of feudal Japan, and also the ultra hi-tech modern day version of it.

These are the places that I have traveled to, and fallen in love with. America: I just love how everything is so varied here. Where I am from, there is one way (more or less) of life. Here, people are different all over. There is so much diversity and so so so many delicious foods. My home is pretty homogeneous and decidedly monochromatic. South Africa: A fascinating mixture of European and African cultures, and the food is amazing. Japan: I don't think needs much explaining. It's another planet practically compared to anywhere else. And food of course. I see a theme here.... 3

The Lost Civilization that built Stonehenge and Avebury. Because Stonehenge. I wonder if their Capital was at or near the mouth of the Thames-Seine where the united flood of those rivers and several others met the Ancient Atlantic.

I have to disagree with you. Our own cultures always seem fairly plain compared with others, we often don't see the beauty hiding in front of us. Middle America has produced some fantastic artists and art, as well as having interesting customs all their own.

Can that be an answer? Ok, ok. I guess China. They've got a long history, filled with a lot of crazy, sad, and hilarious stuff. Bonus: the historical costumes and the FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! I'm going to have to second this answer. Only because of all the foods I want to try. There could be some specific ones but nothing I can think of off the top of my head.

To us, our culture is just daily life, non-trivial, and sometimes a grind. To me, anything outside those boundaries is exciting by comparison, specifically because it's new and not the same old thing.

Compared to others on the Interwebs, I'm still a grasshopper.
