Hello all,

Starting a new WIP for a mini I'm working on for one of the players in my D&D 5e campaign.

One of her characters is a Tiefling Eldritch Knight, so I have selected the glaive-weilding S'Kara to be the starting point for this project...

As you can see, I have just begun. I have primed the mini, and used a pair of pliers to slightly curve her horns, to achieve a more ram-like, less devil-like look.

I'm currently in the process of selecting colours for the cloth portion of her outfit. Any suggestions or ideas? (Fyi, she will have dark brown hair and olive skin).

As always, comments and constructive feedback are always welcome! ::):

Love this mini. I was a bit disappointed in how the Bonesium one turned out. I can't wait to see it all painted up.

Last Update Tonight

20180205_205219.thumb.jpg.282576afd33ec2b83cf4ae90ad2c7151.jpg

- started my first coat of skin and hair.

- painted most of the metal surfaces (weapons and armour) to get a sense of the details.

- painted the hip flask. I used MSP emerald green (09103) to get a green glass/wine bottle look.

Still lots to do, but I feel like I'm making progress! I'll try to get some more painting done tomorrow before/after work.

Post-wash update:

I still can't get over how awesome the first wash is. Everytime, all kinds of details just pop out!

Next step is a bit more dry brushing to build some contrast, then I'll try to do the eyes (my nemesis!!).

Progress continues to be made! :)

I would humbly suggest trying to layer the skirt, not dry-brushing.

Thanks for the suggestion! :)

I'll browse through the painting tips section of the forum to get some pointers on layering.

After looking up some layering tutorials on YouTube, I have made an attempt at layering the skirt.

A big thank you to @paintybeard and @Glitterwolf for convincing me to layer instead of dry brushing! Because of you, I reached out to a new technique and discovered I love it!

Looks promising so far. It's a bit of a matter of taste with layering, you can keep adding lighter layers almost ad infinitum! Personally I would go a leetle bit further by adding some more orange to the mix. But if you are happy, don't let me talk you into anything you don't feel is good. It's YOUR figure.

More layering and touch-up for your viewing pleasure...

Also, EYES!

20180209_113737.thumb.jpg.b6452f6de69fc5753242a280ade1815b.jpg

Thank goodness Tiefling eyes are essentially pools of infinite darkness! Makes them much easier to paint.

To give the eyes an extra-ethereal look, I used MSP Adamantium Black (09124).

We're getting near the end. Might try to blend in some of the layering on the robe. Not sure.

Finished painting the Roc as a Thunderbird. I lost patience halfway through, so not much blending and proper highlighting.

Well I said it already I have started a lot of wips and I`m painting at all from time to time and nothing gets finished.

Lorna The Huntress is a cool sculpt I ever wished to paint and now finaly I started it. I have got 3 wips already and you missed the first 2 ones and so I made a photo collage for you to see the other wip stages too.

Here you can see what I was talking about already: I start messy. I don`t mind about clean painting at all, but with time it all becomes more clean, finer, it gets more depth, more contrast, more vibrant colours and so on. This is the way I work.

I have no real concept for her and still consider about a base. Ideas are most welcome

I have to link her for nudity I`m afraid and the bad news are: My image hoster compressed the images. Aaaaargh. Images are too small, but I hope you see enough. Next time I can upload single photos to my image hoster and because of a different size they won`t be compressed like this big collage. For the final photos of the finished Miniature I will post a link to my homepage and there you also can see all angles of her. Nothing is finished here and I will go on working out all details more.

As always: All feedback is appreciated.

      Link for nudity:

Presenting Dr. Helen Matronic, the Field Medic for my Starstrider team of space adventurers.
She's trying to escape her demons (both literal and metaphorical) by exploring the furthest reaches of the galaxy.

Overall I'm fairly pleased with how she turned out, even if she is a little rough in places (her tunic trim was a bit of a nightmare to paint).

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

My first post here! I thought the bones 4 ape men would make good soldiers for my growing demonic army. Still thinking of tweaking some of the smaller details and considering also painting the armored one as a barlgura. Tried to give some texture by dry brushing orange over a black base coat for fur. I also tried to dry brush around the eyes to create a deep red glowing effect.

Shown with a human paladin for scale.
C and c welcome but keep in mind I’m pretty new to this!

I needed some more henchmen to fill out my frostgrave parties, especially some archers which I seem to have in very short supply.  So i Found these while rooting through my drawer of 'I dont know where this goes and put a pretty basic paint job on them.

I needed some minis to fill out the challenge for this month so here they are:

I did try a little freehand on the soldier's shield and played with some of the brighter colors for the dwarf twins so they would stand out.  In the end, basic minis to liven up the frostgrave maps

      Thanks for looking!
