Box of Goodwill round 6 picture/chatter thread

Recommended Posts

Well I finally have the Guindyloo Box ready to forward on to Ulfheathen.

This took longer than anticipated because my accursed long term headache has laid me low for too many days this month.

I'm still in the process of figuring out how to get pictures off my flip-phone and onto my computer.  Software is available for Windo$e or Mac, but apparently not for anything that is based on Linux.

I managed to pack a whole shipping container [Chronoscope, I haven't figured out how to turn space and time in the manner necessary to put a 40' steel shipping box inside a Medium Flat Rate Cardboard Box] filled with Chronoscope Minis.  Also some Savage World, and, watch out for the Eye Beast.

Will be in the hands of the Post Office before the end of the day.

It's possible but a real pain in the posterior fundament with my phone.

It's an older model LG but I refuse to go to a phone with a naked screen as I know how easily it will be for such an object to become scratched/permanently damaged given my own personal habits / klutziness.

Well, if no pix, how about a list of what you got?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Inquiring minds want to know...

*Reapercon 2016 Swag Mouse Mummy - blister

*Happy Halloween treat Frankenstein - blister

*circa 1/2 of the Glittery gold Coins - some of which is going on to the base of the test shot Kaladrax I am currently working on

* a colorfully painted plastic dwarf

*WotC Griffon

*Harlequin Armoured Skeletons - x3 - lead

*Bag of Movie Monsters - 8 - circa 2" tall

*two plastic trestle tables

*two small basing stamps

*three plywood 2" square bases

*four dropper bottles - I actually needed a few of these

*five corks

I organized and consolidated everything to reduce some of the packaging and added:

Chronoscope

*long shipping container

*smaller shipping container

*dumpster

*flying saucer

*control console with base

*door with base

*machinery

*13 Chronoscope figures + 3 sprues totaling 8 figures - packed into shipping containers

     - - - - -

*20 some odd Savage Worlds Figures

*two larger size bones monsters from KS II

*an Eye Beast

*a large basing stamp from 2017 Swag Bag

*Sophie from 2017 Swag Bag

Box was still full when I closed it up for shipping, even after removing about half of the high bulk items.

@Green Eyed Monster awesome haul.

You can keep what you put in a surprise!

I'm waiting for the Box to arrive.

I will have to add that I'm on holiday from May 6th to May 9th.

So if it arrives then, the girls will hold it for me.

I do hope Dutch Customs won't take too long with it.

Stuff was Taken!

IMG_1404.thumb.JPG.a93101c4980804e17f916adefad6fd65.JPG

Terminators and tools! Extra Grey Knight weapons to arm some of my other terminators with - and a set of lightning claws for an old metal terminator that I only can find one claw for.  There's also a couple of jump-pack space marines that were already assembled that got put on the pile last minute (no pics) because I can't find a good container for them to go in, and plastics break.

The Rest -
IMG_1409.thumb.JPG.b133267a0b1f5f48ee3296ac6f3fc955.JPG

An old Citadel chaos knight, some Bonesium, the cart I haven't been able to get ahold of from Wizkids,  (the terminators and stuff in a bag), three of the GW Lord of the Rings elves, and a Girl and her (very big) Kitty.  OH, and a book

s-l1600.thumb.jpg.54be366c6f4e0f2fee15aed296837114.jpg

That I've actually wanted for some time - so into the gaming reference library it goes!

Stuff got put in!

But you don't get to see what! I did break down a bunch of stuff that was on sprues, so there's quite a bit of space freed up - I didn't fill *all* of it, but I did put in a bit more than I took.

The box should either go out today or Monday - I'm guessing Monday, actually, because I think it should probably get replaced - it's kinda beat up, and covered in enough shipping addresses that it should get a new one.

Right.

I took what I really wanted.

There is a lot of awesome stuff in this box I tell you!

I added stuff as well, I will keep it a secret.

I painted the Group Paint mini as well ( a part of it)

I did repack the box, because it was slightly getting too small...

This is what I took:

Nice choices!  The Islander natives from Paymaster Games are great...I wound up getting a bunch of them in another trade and used them for "Isle of Dread" when it was a D&D Next playtest.  They'll see the Ghost Archipelago as well, I'm sure.

Is that the Mayan/Inca style mini?

I'm very happy with it, he fits right into my Lost World project, together with the Pirate Lady and the Bugs.

And a lot of Undead for my Children of the Grave project.

The Oni and the Female Monk are for my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon project.

All in all awesome!!!

You'll take my life, but I'll take yours too
You'll fire your musket, but I'll run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand, there's no turning back

I'm going to be building/converting/sculpting my own copy of Eddie from this artwork. I'm just going to do the central figure, not the battlefield around him.

For those who don't know, the song 'The Trooper' is based on the Charge of the Light Brigade, an action during the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War.

So, before I get started, a question:

The artist who did this piece (Derek Riggs) applied a little creative license to the flag that Eddie is carrying. It is not historically accurate to the best of my knowledge and research. If you know differently, please enlighten me.

When I get to that point, do I try to recreate the flag as seen in the artwork, or go with something a little more accurate? Or is that a detail that most people will not notice?

Here's 2 beetle swarms that I knocked out pretty quick this weekend.

One basic brown, and the other with a more metallic look to them.

Let me know what you think.

I finished Mason Thornwarden a little earlier today. He's painted up to a (hopefully) decent tabletop standard. I've been reading a lot about Rangers of Shadowdeep on various blogs all over the internet; I can neither confirm nor deny that is what may have led to his selection for the paintbrush.

Let me know what you think of him, please.

I just finished painting this figure yesterday. It's from the old Grenadier boxed set 'Fighting Men' #2005. Not really a whole lot to say about him, I spent about 3 hours painting him to a good tabletop level. I got a little burned out on painting for a while, feeling like I had to paint everything to a competition level. Well, sometimes it's just fun to slap some paint on a figure in a few hours just to take your mind off of other things. I had just forgotten that somewhere along the way.

Anyhow, here he is, let me know what you think.

I finally managed to climb back on the painting horse. I painted this vampire to my usual tabletop standard. He'll be the leader for a Mordheim/Frostgrave/random skirmish game warband.
