I once again am totally amazed by your skind painting. Great work so far. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks!

I still insist it's all down to the Flesh Wash, it's liquefied magic!

Finally managed a little painting today:-

VF0pqRW.jpgwY930Zy.jpg

Finished her skin with highlights of 1:1 and 1:2 Rosy Flesh/Light Flesh, I added a drop of Blood Red to the top highlight mix to paint her lips and managed some basic eyes (they're surprisingly small for such a large head).

Fought with her hair, it was based with Hexed Lichen, given a Black Wash, highlighted with Hexed Lichen, given spot highlights of 1:1 and 1:2 Hexed Lichen/Off-white, glazed with thinned Hexed Lichen, re-shaded with Black Wash and then I gave up.

Also painted her head thing (Lonestar Leather > Brown Wash > Lonestar Leather > 1:1 Lonestar Leather/Ochre Yellow) and skulls in Bonewhite.

Decided Snows fur was fine (didn't want to risk using my unreliable drybrushing skills), painted her harness and things (Lonestar Leather > Brown Wash > Lonestar Leather > 1:1 Lonestar Leather/Ochre Yellow), there was also Bronze moon charms, a Bonewhite skull and a Brassy Brass guild symbol.

The posing rock is a base of 1:1 Cold Grey/Olive Green so far.

Thanks guys!

More progress:-

ZLUwedb.jpgcYBV31K.jpg

Tried tackling her hair again, this time I went in a different order and applied more general highlights (1:2 Pure Black/Hexed Lichen > Hexed Lichen > 1:1 Hexed Lichen/Off-white > Off-white with a brushtipful of the previous layer > Black Wash > Violet Ink glaze). It's still not how I envisioned it, but I'm happier with it.

Also made a start on her cape. The yellow part is a base of Ochre Yellow with a Brown Wash and then drybrushes of Ochre Yellow and 1:1 Ochre Yellow/Iraqi Sand, while the red is just a base of Scarlett Red so far, plus some Dark Prussian Blue feathers.

Snow is all based up.

I'll do better pictures later when I make a show-off thread.

Thanks!

Been forgetting to take pictures again:-

This was done over lots of little painting sessions, so I can't remember what colours I used ::(:

Today's session was basecoating her shorts in Olive Green plus a Brown Wash.

I love her eyes. She really has a mean gaze.

Thanks! I always seem to have better luck with painting eyes if I paint them looking to one side.

Progress:-

Her tatty leg-warmers are done.

The cloth parts are Lonestar Leather and the fur parts are Cold Grey > Brown Wash > Wolf Grey.

Base time!

That is one of my secrets to how I paint eyes as well.

Started Ulfr:-

He's surprisingly weighty and a real wrist killer, so I didn't get too far.

7A1zhf2.jpg

Based his skin with Dwarf Flesh and gave it a coat of Flesh Wash.

If my wrist recovers I'll try and finish the skin tomorrow.

I have this set, and haven't gotten around to them yet. So, this is not only glorious to watch, it's educational as well! *makes a note to retrieve larger or different bases for the worst culprits.. and be prepared to tweak some arms*

And, really nice job with the first two; love what you did with Skatha's hair. And woof! Awesome woof. ^^;

(I don't play Guildball. But I can, will and /do/ grab miniatures for their, 'ooh! That looks useful!' factors. And I appear to be collecting wolves, so this set is just full of awesome).

Presenting Ballista, a Captain of the Engineers Guild team in the game of Guildball.
A former siege engine designer and the father of robotics, his refusal to play Guild politics saw him fall out of favour and lose his Captaincy to Pin-Vice.

Had a lot of fun painting this one, even if he came rather close to being over-detailed even for me.

Presenting Veteran Chisel, a player for the Masons Guild in the game of Guild Ball.
This is one of the many Guild Ball characters I don't know much about, although it's surprising she got a veteran version without popping up in any big story lines.

Had a few issues with this one (even after painting them I still can't figure out her boots) plus she's yet another Guild Ball mini missing a few fingers.

Presenting Veteran Spigot, a player for the Brewers Guild in the game Guild Ball.
This mini represents the mid-point of his character arc, where he has realised how much damage the Brewers Guild drinking culture is doing to him and, with a little help from his friends, manages to get off the sauce.

Had a lot of fun painting this one, not only is it a really nice mini, it's covered in those fat stitches I love painting.

Presenting Veteran Gutter from the game Guild Ball, a damaged young woman who used her trauma to transform into a rage-fuelled murder machine. Originally part of the Union team (haven't painted this version yet), this veteran version marks her move to the Butchers Guild team.

As I said in her WIP thread, this mini had rather sever moldline and excess flash issues (she's a one piece mini and the areas between her arms, sides and chain were pretty much filled in) which has left the details in a few areas in a bit of a mess, despite that I think she turned out okay.

Presenting Veteran Decimate, a minor noblewoman turned sword for hire, who was originally a member of Guild Balls mercenary Union team (I haven't painted this version yet), however plot related shenanigans caused her to move to the Brewers Guild team resulting in this new 'Veteran' version.

Really happy with this one, there's a few things I could do better (her bracers, straps and glove blend together too much), but I think overall it turned out pretty good.
