SWOON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INCREDIBLE, MAGNIFICENT, OUTRAGEOUS, MASTERPIECE, BREATH TAKING !!!

That's just me warming up.  Al you are totally amazing.  Yours is SO MUCH BETTER!

It says more, it emotes more. Looking at this crumb from your stunning artistic brain, it makes

me stutter.  I'm Awe struck.   It is totally inspiring.  I have to talk to the boss upstairs, and somehow arrange for you

to become immortal.

Oh SO WELL DONE !

You have ONCE MORE  made my day, Jay. You are definitely back to your own enthusiastic self. That, in & of itself, is a reason to rejoice.

Thanks for the WONDERFUL reply. I am delighted you enjoyed the piece. If C.M.o.N. had been better about maintaining their stock my Oz

probably would never have happened...it's one of the good coming from bad instances...or not.

Another excellent piece!

You're an inspiration my friend!

...actually, I am usually considered a bad example, but, as a description,  I like inspiration much better.

Thanks for the reply & the status upgrade, Glitter. I am glad you like the piece.

He is wonderfull!! ..and fits so perfect into the Spooky Woods..

I had my doubts about the sylvan setting, but I think you are right; i.e., he fits with the Spooky Woods just fine.

I have him sitting next to the Mushroom Witch. They look like they could be an item as the tabloids would say.

My my Al, you have made my day yet again! First of all your version is a thousand times better than the original, with more character and detail..

Secondly your setting, your "world" is magic. After getting the chance to glimpse at your imagination and the world that has been created by it I am truly awed each and every time at the fantastic quality of it..

And the most important of all, as we (I know I am not alone in this) adore your work our minds immediately start wandering in that spooky creepy forest.. Your mushrooms start talking under their breath, your trees tut tut dissaprovingly, your critters dry wash their hand-like appendages plotting unspoken evils and our imagination is suddenly flared with stories!

Truly very few works of art have this power and I thank you for it!

The downside is you have all of us very much hooked... We are helpless addicts waiting our next Malefactean fix! ^_^

Halloween always gets my mind going with spooky thoughts...rather like the rest of the year, but more so.
Now I have been making Pumpkinhead/Jack O'Lantern Folk for quite a while...here's an album of them:

      https://photos.app.goo.gl/KbDNTNRCMYcchlRn2

Then I stumbled on this illustration on Pinterest,  AND I had to try that sunny smile:

I was fairly pleased with the test results:

I did a second one  with what I had learned from the first:

      ...with a closer look:

The second is closer to the size of the Reaper Jack O'Lanterns that I usually use for the Pumpkinheads. The first is a bit larger. I may wind up using a GW Orc torso
      like this one from  2017:

The legs are GW Zombie legs.
      This another possibility:

      OH THE POSSIBILITIES!

Another month another batch of Mushrooms & Associates. This month is a bit lighter than last. I started it toward the end of last month's Gang...which is still waiting on some Show Off photos.
I am also hoping to squeeze in some Pumpkinheads & other Halloween strangeness elsewhere. More of that later. For now, The Mushrooms:

With the ever popular Leo Sizechek for comparison:

I got the idea to do a Mushroom/Goblin Wizard from this illustration:

      Mine is a bit seedier:

A Goblin Faerie sidekick seemed appropriate. Appropriate or not I wanted to try out some paper punch butterfly wings with a foam coating inner layer:

AND base coated & ready for color:

      More whenever.

I found a wonderfully bizarre illustration of an armored Rhino by James Christensen. It is just my kind of Beasty:

AND I just happened to have a toy Rhino grazing in The Vault:

SO I started working on making my own version of the illustration:

At this point the green stuff work is done with the exception of some touch ups & embellishments:

The Rhino in his prime...so to speak:

I thought I would be more motivated to finish painting the Big Guy if I post here as well as in The Last Hurrah Thread...I have a lot of strange thoughts.
Today I started adding some colors to the base. Photos are likely...sometime or other.
