Guessing this one's dead?

Recommended Posts

Ordered a reasonable amount of paints from an online store that carries Reaper here in Canada....  All of the other paints come across as normal, but this one....  Well, uhm...

I'm going to venture a guess it's a goner, or can it be saved?  There isn't even a liquid sound when shaking the bottle, just the sound of the agitator stuck in the bottom moving around somewhat.

I've not seen that in a paint before.

Paint that's been frozen doesn't look like that.

Unless there's something different in the formula for this colour.

Looks kind of crystallized.  If you pull the dropper off the top, what does it actually look like?

This is the best I could do with my mobile phone for the time being.  And yeah, when you try to mix it...  It kind of sounds like two rubber coasters flapping together.... If it makes any noise at all.

EDIT: before I forget, this is after spending about ten minutes on and off trying to massage it, since there seems to be this thick, rubbery, white lump inside it.

Yeah. If it's rubbery it's very likely been frozen.

Thought your pic should crystals though.

Well, I don't know if rubbery is the right word...  It's hard to figure out what word to go with.  I can squeeze the bottle down to almost half it's width and I can feel things moving around, but...

I'll go with "it's weird, to say the least".  On the plus side, continuing to shake the living daylights out of it alongside massageing it as best I can...  The agitator is getting stuck in something more often than just rattling around....  And it seems to be very slowly gaining some sort of mixture of "ooze-like" and "liquid" at the same time.

Hmmmm....  after several more minutes of shaking, this is what I'm seeing under the cap....

Yep. That's been frozen.

Best to just let it go.

That's... Annoying to say the least, given that I took quite a few precautions to ensure freezing wouldn't happen... Like ordering when it was fairly warm for Feb, and most of the route it took didn't see temperatures that were all that bad.

So weird - a package can come from Reaper and see a day or two of -20C but this one sees temps that barely hit -5C at their worst, and one freezes while the other several dozen had no issues at all.

Given that it's gone from absolutely nothing to that last pic... I might give it the occasional shake over the next few days and see what happens.

Still sucks though.

It could have frozen on the way to the resellers warehouse and they didn't notice.

I'll give them a shout and see what they offer.  ignoring the fact it's dead, it sure makes for some neat looking photos...  Well, neat from a photographer's perspective anyways. ::P:

Maybe try to stir it with a wooden skewer and a drop of water?

I have some paints like that, some I could revive others were buried.

Very annoying to say the least.

I wonder if lining a package with alufoil could help maybe?

Alufoil won't help unless there's some heating inside the package...

And the postal services and customs control might not like it if you stuck a heating element(a battery and a resistor should do. It's basically what's keeping Pioneer alive out there)  inside the package...

Frozen paint, yep, this winter has seen a lot.

Does anyone know what the closest match to dirty grey is out of the currently available paints? I'm kind of on my last little bit of it, and I used it on a bunch of stuff that I'll likely need to get close to matching in the future.

Right, so this is probably a stupid question, but I'm gonna ask it anyways, because, well, I'm uncertain.

So a week ago, I purchased the D&D/Army Painter Monster Paint Set. Fantastic set, contains more paints than I'll need ever for a decade for a year for an undetermined period of time.

Anyways, this set came with three washes - Shadow Wash, Flesh Wash, and Brown Wash. As recommended by several other painters on a different post, I decided I'd use these premade washes rather than the thinned-down paint I had been using in the past. However...

I doubted, and now I'm uncertain. After a quick google search, I'm even more confused as I saw contradictory answers, and answers that weren't really answers. I know I'm being irrational, but do you use these the same way as thinned-down paint (applying to the miniature after it's been basecoated?), or do you use it some other way?

Again, stupid question, but as they say, it's better to be safe than sorry. Thanks!

So my niece is turning 13 next month. She already has a huge interest in minis and loves to paint with me. I'm trying to build her a kit or care package for her birthday so we can video chat and paint together. I'm at a loss as to what to put in it though. She has a ton of minis I gave her and a few brushes but I want to get her like a full starters kit of sorts (paint, better brushes, brush soap, etc.). I'm already considering the first LTPK. What would you put in it for someone just starting out?

Some of these came back as other numbers, but but the rest won't be brought back by Reaper and some might be present in other paint lines.

Hi!! my name is Katerina and I'm new to painting miniatures, I begun
with a miniature from NonSenseminiatures, the Barbarian, I buyed the
54mm because it's bigger and maybe easier to paint.
I asked some help to NonSense and he already made a base coat for me, I
would like to get some help for painting because I see too much
information and don't know were begin.
I already make painting but totally different
Also he gave for me a discount code Katerina10%, because he will sell my
      paints also!!!
