Popular Post Geoff Davis
Bones Ghost King. WIP thread is here: WIP Another one rescued from my shelf of shame (leaving 28). He has a very twisted body that couldn't be fully realigned, even after heating him in boiling water which is why he has the weird base. He's just attached to it so he will stay level while the pictures are taken. I'm trying to improve my blending and lighting effects so any criticism would be appreciated.
Jordan Peacock
Interesting! Here and I would have thought the thing going on with the base was just reflecting the overall dynamism of the figure. :D (Swoosh!) I mean, unless I'd really stopped and THOUGHT about it. I think I'd just gap-fill between the bottom of the base and a more conventional plastic base (as you have it pictured) and work with that, using some epoxy putty. Anyway, it looks awesome! :)

VolksFest
The end result is very satisfactory, you can be proud!
DragonWyrm
Nice OSL. The base makes him look as if he was surfing/snowboarding, especially with his pose. The lava surfing ghost!!! Lived an exciting life, leads an even more exciting death!
Schirf
Looks fantastic! I'd love to give more critique but you are far beyond my talent level.

Thanks, Schirf, but I disagree on the talent thing. Your moorhound is a really good piece of work that shows you know how to shade and highlight different types of textures, you have good brush control and a good eye for colour. If this directional lighting project inspires you then you should pick out a mini and try it. You've got the necessary foundation skills.

He looks much better without the square plastic base, for sure. He just doesn't stand up properly without some support. I don't want to cut off the stone base because it really adds to the sense of light direction. I may pop him off the square base and just build up a disc of greenstuff under him that keeps him basically level and not wobbly, and which is not as jarring visually as the square base. I actually just got the Bones 3 core set so, I should have plenty to practice with. Guess we'll see what happens. Thank you!
