77190: Nethyrmaul the Undying Silver Dragon

Recommended Posts

This looks super cool, the contrast of the silver scales to the gore looks great. Definitely inspiring me for mine that I need to paint up for my Wrath of the Righteous campaign.

Very nice and I am so going to borrow your dragon graveyard idea. The hair clip ribs are awesome!

That's ingenious!  Every other picture I've seen of nethyrmaul has him as a green dragon, so it's great to see him in another variety - with a bit of backstory to go with it! Great job!

Wow!  Very nice!  Great idea with the hair clip!  I would not have guessed had you not mentioned it.

I really wanted more than just skulls, but I was having trouble finding appropriately sized bones without buying a scientific dinosaur skeleton model, and then it just came to me right before I finished the dragon and started on his base.

I have wanted to get into painting for a long time and have watched days worth of videos on it. i think it shows in how my first minis came out.
the first was a reaper kobold and he looks a bit sloppy. (on the card for the hobby holder i got because i could not find anything else to put him on for the pic lol)
next was a blue kobold and a baby dragon, I was still working on how washes work with the blue kobold but the dragon came out better.

now the one i did today

I am pretty proud of him, for being my forth mini i think he looks really good. he is colored like a ring neck snake.

The dire crocodile, dire boar, and dire crab were one of the Bones 4 addons, and it doesn't look like they've hit retail just yet. Which is a shame, because we need more giant crabs.

The mud on the dire crocodile's base is just some water effect goo dribbled on that half of the base. The barnacles attached to the rocks on the dire crab's base were sculpted with green stuff. The rocks... those are just rocks.

I'm looking for something to stick Bones, specifically Ma'al Drakar's terrain, to a wooden base. It's not thick enough, at the area I want to place it, to pin effectively.

What kind of adhesives would work? I'm thinking epoxy, maybe? I just /really/ don't want to melt it accidentally and have to buy a new one.

My wife, @Shinma, started to paint the Clockwork Dragon several years ago.
It got to a point where the body was nearly done, and the wings and base remained.

We had prepared a big gear salvaged from a monitor stand, sanded down by a friend.

Then, inspiration and drive was lost and it sat on the shelf, staring at her, unfinished.

Recently she allowed me to finish it. I did the wings, small part of the body, along with the base.
      Here's our result!

I just like the way the blue/black wings look.  - I did the same with the Librarian Sophie. (last month)
I really need to paint up one of the metal versions for contrast.
I'm not sure what she is serving - Meat, bread and salad is the way I painted it, but that could be cake instead.
