First Teaser Trailer for "The Crimes of Grindelwald"

  The first teaser trailer is out for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.   I know there's a lot of controversy surrounding Johnny Depp's casting as Grindewald, and the original movie had a luke warm reception (I liked it); but Jude Law sure does make a cool young Dumbledore and I'm interested to see what he does with the character.

Looks interesting. I'm glad they brought back the muggle guy, I liked him.

I liked Fantastic Beasts despite thinking the Harry Potter films were pretty meh in general, so I'm looking forward to this one.

 

I'm guessing it's going to be a waste of time hoping Depp isn't an OTT wacky oddball yet again though.

I really liked Fantastic Beasts, I'm looking forward to The Crimes of Grindelwald.  I suspect that there will be more of a focus on Newt than Dumbledore or Grindelwald, the trailer was just showing off the cast.  

 

Nice to see a movie where the hero is awkward and shy, honestly.

I agree with you on liking Newt. Especially for a male main character it's refreshing to not have the usual Mr. Confident Manly Man, but someone more nurturing and soft. 

But apparently the main character was one of the reasons the first movie wasn't as well received. I hope they stick to their guns and don't revamp him too much or push him aside too far.

He's playing Wizard Hitler. OTT seems like a good bet but "wacky oddball" seems unlikely.

 

I'm worried they'll elf up his relationship with Dumbledore, though. My read from the books was that the reason Dumbledore took so long to confront him was that he was hoping literally anyone else on the planet would be able to stop his boyfriend.

I shall certainly be seeing this, but the cast member that worries me most is Jude Law as the young Dumbledore. Haven't seen many performances by Law that I rated as even passable.
