She looks bright and useful, with some nice touches of accent colors. I like what you did with the base.

She works remarkably well with the concept art! Nicely done on the base, I like it a bunch.

The base was an opportunity to play with water effects, I sculpted around the existing base and made a sloping depression at the back.  I painted it shades of blue to look like deepening water and then poured epoxy resin to fill it.  (I have a large amount of epoxy resin that is supposed to only have a 1 year shelf life and I'm already past that so I'm trying to use it up.)  I had kind of wanted to try and get something to make ripples with, but that was one of the extra touches that got shelved.  I'm reasonably pleased with it as is, thanks for all the positive comments!  ^_^

A very nice representation of the character.  The water effect is really cool.  I agree with you that taking pictures is a challenge, but you did a great job!

Obviously it's up to you, but I think you should do more show offs; you did a very good job with this lady! :winkthumbs:

Her base is very cool as well, I like how you did the water effect.

Thank you!!!  I haven't done much painting this spring, and not much has been finished, but I will try and post more show-offs.  ^_^

She looks amazing!

Aaaargh.  Epoxy resin only has a 1 year shelf life?  I'd better make a waterscape or something!

      Hello guys,

so here is a figure I just finished up yesterday and got her on a base.

Not so sure where she is from, but am almost sure she's a Ral Partha Import from the eighties, but I could never seem to find any image of her in any old catalogue.

Also no idea who the sculptor is, so if anybody knows, please give me a hand and let me know!

Not too happy with the sword, didn't build up enough to white I think and still a little too blue, but in the end I guess I'm not going back, on to the next new miniature to paint.  If I ended up being too persnickety, I'd never get anything thing finished, and I have a pending pile of thousands to still work on....

I got these guys painted sometime last year, but I'm just now getting around to showing them off. They were spray painted with a glow in the dark green spray paint, which I was expecting would tinge them with a spectral look from above, and it didn't work, so I just sprayed the whole mini, then inked them, dry brushed them, and then did the painting on the bases and weapons and such. I'm pretty satisfied with them overall, though I think the eyes aren't as obvious in the photos as they should be.

Oh! And they glow in the dark a bit, though that's hard to photograph...

Presenting Mary Jo, a member of the River Widows faction from Reapers Dreadmere setting.

Had a lot of fun painting this one, and as a bonus she turned out pretty decent too!

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

      I be a pirate!
      And so be ye.
      So let's all drink rum
      and shove off ta sea.

      Ye be the captain
      and I be first mate
      We both be drunken pirates
      on this pirate speak'n date

      Follow'n the map
      X shows us tha way
      To booty and plunder
On Talk Like a Pirate Day!

How can there not be a talk like a pirate day thread here?
Perhaps it should be Paint (like) a Pirate day.
Perhaps we should all try and paint a pirate today? Yarr. I be thinkin I'll try.
