Question, April 11th: Do you like having shakers in your paint bottles?

I think the agitator is nice when needing to shake the bottle by hand.  I also use a vortex mixer; agitators don't not seem to do as much in this case.  I generally add agitators to bottles that don't fit the mixer.

Absolutely!!! I buy them periodically... but I still have enough for probably another 20 paints.  I have so much paint, now, though and will most likely reacquire the same paints that I use frequently, so, I can reuse the agitators when I replace the paint bottle.

No; I'm more of a stir than shake Guy...at least, with paint.

So... You're the James Bond of paint stirrers?

I am indifferent, though I have an academic sense that it's beneficial.

What I really want is to have shakers FOR my paint bottles. As in, some sort of goblins in a cage that will continually reach through the bars, take paint off the nearby shelf, shake the bottle, then put it back*... Continuing this cycle throughout the day.

*Yes, @buglips*the*goblin, I said "put it back." Stop wailing and gnashing your teeth, you don't want this job, anyway: all my ProPaints are long gone.

I tried hiring a toddler with pixy sticks to do this, but the paint ended up all over the corgis, and then all over the house.

Should have tried a goblin.

Like? Yes. I've dropped some glass beads (they were within reach) into my old hexagonal Citadel paint pots to get them revived. I don't think I've bothered adding any to others. It isn't high in my priorities list. Paint shakers are nice, but I haven't been using metallics enough to warrant the cost. 1) in comparison to my old enamels, anything necessary for my acrylics is easy. 2) the enamels needed 30mins on the shaker, and I broke 3 of them by wearing out the motors. So a difficult acrylic takes 3 minutes in hand? Pfft. Easy.

Should also stir martinis. James Bond is a wimp for getting his shaken.

I don't think I've ever had a paint bottle with a shaker in it, so I don't know.

Yes, and for paints that don't have one in it I'll drop a small chunk of white metal sprue in the bottle.  My paints tend to sit for extended periods, so anything to help restore them is to my benefit.

Yes. Makes my life all kinds of easier.

Most everyone ahead of me has already explained some of the reasons why, so I'll leave it at that... and I like the feel of the things banging around in there.

Yes.  I need a better shaker for my paint bottles but that's a different problem.

Whatever I have in my Reaper paints doesn't feel like it makes much of a difference.

So I have "other" methods of shaking, of the electric appliance variety (back massager).

**Question, April 11th: Do you like having shakers in your paint bottles?

I do.

It is interesting that some of you use “shaker” to mean different things.

**This Question was inspired by a recent purchase I made from Scale75. They sell stainless steel spheres (6mm diameter = 1.5mm larger than a BB) which they describe as shakers. I bought them to become 28mm cannon-balls.

The shakers in my paint are good for my shaker for my paint.

I've got a few Buglips clones laying around if you need any.

Yes! I need to find some that are heavier though. The glass beads that I got aren't quite doing the job. I also have a mechanical paint shaker. It could do better, maybe I'm not letting it shake long enough...

The rules as they currently stand (in addition to all regular forum rules):

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or some thing) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day (or send a recently asked one!) a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

The first question shall be posted after a brief pause to prevent the merging of posts.
