Weekend Question, April

6-7-8: What have you done lately to improve your SitRep?

(SitRep :: Situation Report) This could be advancing toward a life goal,  working on a health issue, learning a new recipe ...however BIG or small... just something that made things better.

1) Trying to not overthink and worry about things I can't control.

2) Continued use of a pedometer/health app and walking more.

3) Making time for the things I enjoy doing, including painting minis.

Not bad, but I think I'd have given them a Passover.

I am indifferent, though I have an academic sense that it's beneficial.   What I really want is to have shakers FOR my paint bottles. As in, some sort of goblins in a cage that will continua

it would not be a normal paint.   Glitter Medium!   Turning any colour into a glitter variant.

I applied duct tape to the greenhouse to buy us more time before it reaches critical state.  I somehow lost the measurements so I need to take new ones so I know how much plastic to order.

I still have to fix the power feed going to the greenhouse.  We'll see how much of Sunday I spend working.

And I scheduled more vacation time.  Very little of it is likely to be project time, though, but I have vacation scheduled.

I had (what felt like/I certainly hope was) a very good job interview yesterday. It lasted for close to 2 hours; the interviewer apologized for keeping me so long, but I'm hoping that if he didn't want to get rid of me quickly then that's a good sign. Fingers crossed that this one works out; it's right up my alley, and I really think that it'd be something that I enjoy, too.

I have also been trying to attend to medical issues.

Joined the gym, going regularly.  Taking meds, or not, as required.  Planning lots of spring veggies into the menu this month.  Getting out more for fresh air and sunlight.  Indulging in hobbies.  Got a relaxing trip planned for next month, going to hang out with friends.   That kind of stuff.

Mrs. Gargs and I have been cleaning up/packing up/fixing up the house to get it ready to put on the market so that we can finally move (albeit not very far). Have a meeting with a realtor set for Tuesday where we'll learn what else we need to do before we put the house on the market. Not a biggie, but something that will hopefully improve things a tad -- even if it does cut into my hobby time in the interim. ;)

Just refinanced my loans for the farm at a lower interest rate. Sadly any savings are offset by borrowing more. I'm sitting on tens of thousands of dollars of product which I can't move at the moment and my bank account is empty. Once I get the money I'll be buying a couple of necessary pieces of equipment. Hopefully this will be the last large purchases for 5-10 years and I can concentrate on just getting the work done.

... Benevolent Tyrant. Because most of the time, as long as people aren't trying to kill each other and eat the evidence, I'm not interested in what they're doing. But, if I have to get involved, man.. nobody wants that. Ever.

Oh. Right. Wrong question. Mostly, just trying to adult more consistently and be fitter and less *splat* all the time.

Went for my annual job assessment last week. Said all the right b*llsh*t things to all the right faces, so I am still one of their favourite Chiefs.

Now I just have to pass the annual medical next week and I should be gainfully employed for at least another year.

The very best of luck with all of this. Most farmers the world over seem to put in unbelievable amounts of work and get almost no reward.

It was last year, but whatever, I upgraded my cochlear implant AND now, while music & cinema/theater are lost forever, I can carry on a conversion pretty normally.

As far a reputation goes, I try to avoid being seen with me...I deny knowing me whenever I think I can get away with it.

Most would quote lifestyle as the reason they do it. I personally think it's more of an inherited mass insanity which I also suffer from. There are easier ways to make a living but without us none of those would exist.

This one is easy. I just traveled 3000km last Monday to start a new job. Currently getting familiar with the town (pop. ~2100).

Next week, I'm expecting to join the local gym.

Question, April 5: Would you rather be Pope, Emperor, Dictator for Life or High King??

Interesting question.

Which one would give me the most power, with the lowest chance of getting assassinated or overthrown?

Question, April 4: Did you get fooled by the Easter Bunny or any other pranksters this year?

Too busy getting ready to move to care. That and everything was mostly closed, so no need to go out.

Question for, April 3: Did you see any bizarrely colorized Easter Bunnies or other strange Easter holiday decor this year?

Nope. And now that I think of it, I never see much Easter decorations outside of shopping centers.

Question, April 2: Would either of these have been good prank Questions for yesterday: “Do you agree with the Pope’s Decision to cancel Easter?” “Was the Easter Bunny justified in Excommunicating the Pope for banning April Fools Day?”

My first reaction would be WTF? Then remembering it's April Fool's day, I would quickly dismiss it overall.

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
