I can wait that long!  People are still bailing and I imagine it will only get worse once more people get the news.  I hope they come back!

That's probably why they timed the IP claim for a Friday late in the evening when the project creators were probably getting ready for bed.

<<<MOD EDIT>>> Kickstarter is now Live:       Legends of Signum is a 2 players fantasy world wargame, where players will face off against ea

On one hand, they've got some things going for them:   - Professional looking kickstarter - Mini sculpts are largely finished - Fairly prompt and continuous communication - Compa

Good for you guys. Mine arrived a while back. A few missing components (one sphinx had 2 front left legs & no front right leg, one miniature didn't have  ahead etc). I got in touch and the company

I'm hoping it's a false accusation and not by the speculated miniature company. Don't want a sour taste for that project.

Yeah. A false accusation (probably by an over-zealous fan) is probably the only way this would be resolved before the project's due date.

My current thoughts:

1: Bet it's Confrontation.

2: Well that can't be good. I haven't seen a project recover from an IP dispute yet. Seen it shut down 2 good projects after they got funded.

3: Even if the IP infringement claim is false the damage it could cause in terms of confidence and pulled pledges could be pretty monumental.

1- Yeah- they just finished their kickstarter, and collected their money.  They have a history with Cadwallon, and I don't think they have any idea what they should be doing with those funds they collected.
2- Yeah, that's bad.  I was wondering what good projects you've seen get shut down like this?  The only ones I can think of were Heroquest 25 and Alien vs. Predator (some of the worst reputations on kickstarter).
3- If it doesn't get resolved VERY quickly, it could hurt a LOT.  But they could also reset their campaign.

I've been following the conversations about this over at the Confrontation Kickstarter.

I was wondering- what is the relationship between Cadwallon and Legends of Signum?  Some people were saying that Cadwallon were trying to hide their identities during the campaign.

I wish I could still see the KS page and find out what Signum had to say about this.

You could go keep an eye on their Facebook page. Legends of Signum.

They haven't said much yet.

They were claiming that Cadwallon was only selling LoS miniatures but that they were not involved with them anymore than that.

They had even gone as far as saying they had considered filing some kind of complaint against Cadwallon.

They were pretty steadfast that they had nothing to do with them.  Its hard to say though.

I thought the line started out as "Legends of Cadwallon."  Like a spiritual successor to Confrontation, you know?  I honestly didn't know that Cadwallon didn't own the rights to Confrontation for a long while.

If the Confrontation people are behind the shutdown, it is probably because of the bad blood with Cadwallon.  I can't see how they'd have much of a case, but that doesn't mean that it won't hurt the campaign and game.

@Darsc Zacal Yeah- I've been over there- all I've seen so far is "We promise to let you know what's going on, but fight now we've got to find out what's going on."

I'm thinking it might be time to do a bit of sympathy shopping over on the Cadwallon site...

You know, I actually thought the same thing. I'm more inclined now to increase my pledge in the Kickstarter rather than lowering it because of this if it turns out that the SD-team is behind this.

While the basis for the claim is probably the look of the miniatures I'm intrigued to ponder what other aspects of the project could be claimed. It uses cards, miniatures & dice. It uses a game board rather than an open playing area. Are the card mechanics too similar to another game?

I'm also interested to know the motivation behind this claim. Whether it was genuinely someone trying to protect their interest or if they were primarily trying to damage another company's chances.

Okay, so it seems someone is claiming that some of the Signum sculpts are based on old un-used Confrontation concept art. Someone calling themself Adrian Smith. Not sure if it's the Adrian Smith who's done loads of art for Games Workshop over the years or someone else. My money's on someone else.

In the Confrontation comments section one of the French speaking backers has proudly provided a link to a webpage bearing this information (which apparently does not like to be copied & pasted). It looks like we all called it correct. They must be desperate for money as their project did not do as well as they'd hoped.

After the estate of one Fomo Barrowblight (who many moons ago, and with heavily laden bags, had said he was just off for a morning walk, never to return) was sold at auction, there came to light a strange scroll that appeared to be a map of the final resting place of a lost tribe of halflings.  These cousins lived down in the scorching Southlands, amidst endless dunes that had buried whole cities and civilisations.
The newly elected (and so still very enthusiastic) Halfling Town Council had organised an expedition to make contact with their fellow halflings, with the aim of swapping some stories and recipes, and who knows, perhaps even coming back with some interesting new cakes.
And, after many great perils and travails, the expedition found itself in a mysterious location known as 'The Valley of the Things'.  Here, recipes in strange hieroglyphs were marked on tomb walls,  guarded jealously by High Priests and long mummified pastry chefs.
The expedition takes time to assuage the fears of the High Priests that they are here to steal the sacred recipes and make formal diplomatic relations.  But Fomo Barrowblight and another mysterious figure seem intent on stealing the recipe to the sacred pie and have already gleaned some of the ingredients...
      To the Mummy's Tomb!
Introducing a series of  Eight Fantasy Miniatures in 28mm scale from a halfling expedition to the burial grounds of their cousins, in the desert southlands.
        Halfling Town Council Five
The latest elected Halfling Town Council, has been responsible for launching the expedition to the distant Southlands, as always, it is made up of eight different townsfolk from all walks of life.
I've already pledged for the whole set, why haven't you?

Echoes of Camelot: Arthurian Legends is a project that will expand our 75mm resin miniature range with new and exciting models based on the Matter of Britan, particularly around the figure of King Arthur and his Knights. We have many cool surprises prepared should you help us bring this dream to life.
These miniatures have been sculpted and painted here at the Big Child Creatives studio with the collaboration of some of the most talented miniature artists out there. And what is more, they will be manufactured by our own talented team of resin casting experts. This allows us to monitor the process closely to ensure the best quality in the market and a timely delivery.
We have learned a lot from our previous campaigns, and we want to put all this experience to good use, repeating everything we did right, improving upon it, and correcting our past mistakes. We invite you to join us in this journey of discovery throughout the Matter of Britain and its amazing cast of unique characters.
This campaign is a journey of discovery, full of surprises such as custom bits to make your miniatures even more striking than they already are. Some of these kits will be Kickstarter exclusive, so those of you who choose to support us will be able to proudly show it through unique miniatures, even more full of life and character than our regular releases.

(You get BOTH Humans and Halflings in one project! )
Bloody Peasants! by Midlam Miniatures — Kickstarter
"Oh no!  It's an armed agrarian uprising!"
Toiling in the fields for their feudal overlords, the peasants are equally quick to turn their tools to defending their lands from monstrous invaders or, when pressed to the limit, revolting and overturning cruel and greedy landowners.
      Bloody Peasants!
A selection of human and halfling farmers in 28mm scale miniatures for all of your fantasy games.
You can choose from humans, halflings or both!
      The Humans
A familiar sight in the villages surrounding Midlam.
      The Halflings
A smaller folk, doing the same jobs as the longshanks.
      It's a Midlam project, so you know what that means;
Maybe a stretch goal, very possibly an early fulfillment, and absolutely no nonsense.
