Popular Post wdmartin
Here we have 03506, Egyptian Priestess with Baboon. (Except I skipped the baboon.) I've painted her up for use as Shemayet, the Song Pharaoh, an important NPC from The Song Pharaoh's Coda. This is my first attempt at an Egyptian skin tone; she came out too pale, I think. She should be a few shades darker. The base coat was 1:1:1 Suntan Flesh/Palomino Gold/Caucasian Flesh. The midtone varied a bit, but was about 1:1 or 2:1 Caucasian Flesh/Palomino Gold, with highlights of pure Caucasian Flesh and a few bits of very thin white in the highest highlights. In some of the shadows I used highly thinned 1:1 Maroon Red/Suntan Flesh, and I lined with Formula P3 Brown Ink. I'm reasonably pleased with the face, eyes, lips, and the gems on her collar. But I think I'm best pleased with the hair. Base coat of Sandy Brown, washed with a thinned black ink, back to Sandy brown for some midtones, and Linen White for the brights. The jewelry is all done in Formula P3 metallics, except the gems, which are just ink glazes over grisaille. The base is from Micro Arts Studio; there's another picture of it over in Runic Inscriptions.

Pingo
You did a magnificent job with such a blonde palette.* There is something interestingly waxy looking about her skin (I agree that it does not look Egyptian, but it does look good.). Her delicate expression suits her. You did an excellent job differentiating the golds and silvers from each other and from her flesh. Her hair is especially fine. *A very old fashioned art term that means a limited palette of overall very light, usually warm colors. I dropped this explanation in when I discovered it was impossible to Google.

Guildenstern
Lovely skin, I see what you mean about the darkness but it came out very nice as it is. Lovely job over all really like it
