What sort of holder is that you're using?

It’s the Hobby Holder, I got it off Kickstarter a few months ago and love it. It lets you get a really solid base to grab onto but you can still spin the mini to get at all the angles.

Neat.  Does it take standard bottle caps like you get off soda?  Because I often paint on those anyway ...

We used to use lids off deodorant cans, but have switched to the games workshop holder recently.  I like the look of this one as well.

Also, really nice job on the mini, TheMandolin, I have her partially done and she looks like yours could be her twin sister.

It does! One of the reasons I picked it is because I used to have a bit of a soda habit so have a lot of them lying around. You can also use regular corks if that's your jam as well. It's really cost effective compared to some of the fancy mini holders and now he sells different base attachments on his website too.

I checked out the games workshop one but I tend to put my finger on top of the model (no idea why) and the extended (arm?) part of the Hobby Holder really helps with that, and its a spot I can rest the brush on to try and get extra control for small details, like eyes etc. etc.

And thanks!
