Randomness XIV: THE FLOOR IS LAVA!

Recommended Posts

So, I'm currently sitting between a box fan, a tower fan, and a floor unit AC. While it feels wonderful, I am completely unable to paint like this. It all dries out too quickly. I might have to either switch activities, or move out of direct air flow.

And the answer came down to - 'these are ten year old kids, not all of them gamers. Half of them will look at the goat and go "Eww! That looks weird!", half of the rest will say yes, but only push it around their plates, and the remaining kids will actually eat it'.

But if I want to bring over some for just them and Sam to eat, they wouldn't say no.... (Their opinion in that matter is that Sam would eat two portions - even if she doesn't like it - and then boast that she ate a goat! I... have no difficulty picturing that.)

The Auld Grump - I got a big bag of goat meat! I'm gonna put it in my mouth, oh yes!...

Jamie came up with the perfect answer - easy, quick, and flexible - and something that I would never have come up with on my own - grilled goat on a stick!

Well, kabobs, to be accurate - some kabobs just beef and veg, some kabobs just goat and veg, and some kabobs a mix of the two. Grilled over hot coals.

Kabobs are familiar enough that even with the 'weird' goat meat, nobody objected - I am pretty sure that wouldn't have been the case if I had made the curry that was in my head.

I'm a guy, you would have thought that using th grill should have been my first thought....

Almost everybody went for a mix, with beef kabobs for anybody who wants seconds/thirds.

Later I am running a 1st level game for a bunch of the kids - Sam is using this as an opportunity to recruit.... And some of her players have been telling me war stories - the surest sign of a successful GM!

The Auld Grump - mostly not the same kids as the gaming group - Sam and Dain are the only two of the kids that I know.

Velp, I tink I shall lower the grasses now. Then see about procuring some stores of nourishment for the coming days.

Need to use up some of the things the wife left in the fridge. Some small peppers and some ginger. Thinking beef or chicken stir fry.

Sam is looking very happy with both the big three ring easel back binder that her parents put the adventure in, the adventure itself, and Cinder the Redneck Dragon. (I explained the redneck dragon to her - she picked up on how it can be used as a nuisance encounter as well as a full fledged encounter immediately. (Nuisance encounter - cinder flames the party as a fly by, and then continues on his merry way - laughing as he goes. Used properly, the party hates him, long before they get a chance to actually do proper battle.)

Sam never encountered Cinder in my game - instead they got the grumpy black dragon. (The black is closer to the Chaotic Neutral side of Chaotic Evil - and mostly just wanted to be left alone. Cinder is a lot more aggressive, and thinks that flaming people is a hoot and a holler.)

The Auld Grump - Sam really likes the idea of the dragon flaming the party, and flying away... because it would have annoyed the heck out of her!

Hsssssss...

We're a few scant sessions away from the end of Serpent's Skull and everyone keeps not showing up. There's real reasons involved (apparently the East Coast has a wedding season?) and they're warning me days/weeks in advance but...

And it gives me time to stop putting off painting all these dudes and get them done, including the Great God [redacted], but...

I should stop complaining shouldn't I...

This is why I hate the internet... Everything is forever...

I love meal prep. It makes my life so much simpler. On the other hand, cooking everything while it's 96 (feels like 105) isn't super fun. The AC has brought the apartment temp down to 80...

I don't know if I'm doing things right or wrong or what.

I have an orchid that won't flower, hasn't for a year and a half now. Instead it's trying to crawl away. It's growing a half dozen new air roots and is reaching out of the pot toward other things. And huge new leaves, it's putting out huge shiny new leaves that are trying to reach out the window.

Eh, it's a plant. I'm sure it has its own planty ideas.

You DO realize that by doing that, somebody also created glitter-poo, right?:zombie:

People have been trying that for longer than you think with things like Goldwasser and Goldschläger.
