You'd think she'd sleep in the bed... she almost never does.

Ya know, the dogs are great. But the dog show people are... rude. So rude. <_<

More anecdotal evidence for my hypothesis

Dogs: better than people?

The first instance seems to be in the 1998 Merlin. Then there's a bunch of books where she's described as the queen of the unseelie court. But it's all very recent, in terms of literature.

Right, I now vaguely recall that Merlin. But don't remember her as evil so much as trying to cling to her cultural heritage which was being wiped out by invaders.

Maybe I just overly sympathize with the fae courts.

Fermented fish sauces have been used in many cultures for millennia. This includes ours, btw, since that's exactly what Worcestershire sauce is.

Fermented fish meat would probably not interest me much.

I have had people not believe me when I tell them what Worcestershire sauce is.... And that were happier not knowing.

Hikarl was not actually that terrible - I liked it better than... turnips... for example. (I really don't like turnips.)

The professor also told us about this Greenland dish made from sea birds sown into a seal skin and buried under a rock for nine months, so I consider myself lucky that hikarl was as far as he went. (Plus, he could get hikarl imported for the class - I do not think that I could have managed to eat kiviak.)

He was of the opinion that any cultural anthropologist that might end up in the field needed to be able to eat anything presented.

Am I Crock-Potting right? I put in carrots, potatoes, onions, garlic, chicken, quinoa, broth, and a crap ton of curry powder - now I wait a few hours and BOOM food happens? Wish I had some peas for it. Oh well.

If it goes *BOOM!* then you did something wrong....

Well, it's done. They didn't even need us. He pled to the PI and Disorderly charges and got a fine. So I wasted over 2 hours that could have been spent sleeping...

That desktop battle is fantastic, I especially like how a dimetrodon, ceratops, cheetah and giraffe have joined the fray ::P:

In other news, I had just about mustered up the courage to post something in the Show Off section of the forum and got a slight setback this morning

Apparently my house mate had picked up the mini to have a good look at it, put it back on the table then heard a crash behind her. Evidently, Loki decided that it looked better on the floor. Thankfully, it's easily repairable and only some minor touch ups are required.

A friend of mine (Dennis the Younger) has ferrets.

One likes to steal miniatures and hide them.

The Auld Grump - we don't play at his place very often....

Yeah, I think the fae get the short end of the stick from every angle.

Last (full) day here for me, tomorrow I fly back to my home country.  UPS shows my RCon box is delivered, hopefully to the right neighbour!

I've had a good time.  I'd stay longer if I could, and if I didn't have house stuff to sort out.

@Guindyloo, you failed. You were supposed to feed Buglips so much fried foods that he wouldn't be able to leave through the door, let alone the vents.

I know that's what he said, but I'm not sure that a goblin would know the difference. Perhaps I should trust the goblin more.

...

I think I'll leave that to the more credulous.

Let's be fair... Just cause he's the Emperor Of The Moon, doesn't necessarily mean he lives there.

We don't say "chicken"; it's rude.

We say "audacity challenged".

Is it a sign that I've been in the hobby too long when I look at the Battle of Tripleh's desk and my first reaction is: "Ooh, Tim Mee army men.  I didn't think they still made that style." or is it a sign I've become sage and wizened?
