SparrowMarie
4th migraine this week today. I'm so over this. We had them under control then insurance decided they didn't want to pay for the drug I was on. Elfing elfs...it's not even an expensive med. It's like $50usd a month for the dose I was on... Not to mention we have a wedding to go to today in North Seattle. And traffic is going to be awful because they just closed one of the major highway areas until they can get the new express tunnel opened. paintybeard
Sitting at anchor, waiting to go South through Suez Canal tomorrow. Very busy padlocking and securing everything that the local may try to walk off with.

redambrosia
I've found a neat pattern on etsy for 12 fantasy creatures, including a dragon. It should make for a cute mobile. Now I just need to see if I can budget it in. Sad what my budget has been reduced to.

The seller (who has a lot of other cute stuff) is little dear.

Two of my friends lost their jobs today. One was an exterminator for a major player in the industry, servicing just about every major hotel and restaurant(both fast food and sit downs) chain in the area, as well as a bunch of large retail/grocery stores. The other is a chemical engineer. The exterminator was fired for quota reasons, because apparently working around 60 hours a week and having contracts with like 1/3 of the businesses that he possibly could around here wasn't good enough for them. He's out the door already, and has already hit the unemployment office from what he's said. The chemical engineer was informed today that the plant he works at will be shuttered by the end of the year and everything is being moved to a new plant they just built in Mexico. So while he isn't technically out of a job yet, they're going to start the process of pruning staff as early as next week. With him, he's got prospects for other jobs, some even potentially in the same area. So aside from up-ending his life for a bit and probably having to sell the house he just bought when he took the job a little over a year and a half ago, he should be relatively fine. The other guy... not so much. He was planning on quitting come August when he was going to move to Rochester with his girlfriend, since she's been up there since July after getting an awesome job there, but this kind of blindsided him because he's busted his broccoli for the company for the last 3 and a half years. And he's like me - a college dropout, except he's also got a bit of a criminal record from when he did a small stint in jail over a possession charge or two. I'm not happy about either. I'm so sorry to hear about the job loses. Its the nature of the beast while we pay all the check labor to do our expensive technical jobs. I can make my views on our job exports and education openly. Give away the education, force American engineers to teach if low tech countries (I don't care if they have "BA/BS" degrees..I consider those dubious. I will say that you can get your Bachelor's degree from an accredited college (www.ThomasEdisonStateCollege.Edu)...Challenge every course that you can pass. It can be all done online. Europe amazingly has FREE college admissions..and most grad classes are taught in ENGLISH. German, Norway, Holland, Britain all have "pass a test and you can study where every you want. Noway and Germany even will contribute to the cost. You can learn another langue very quickly. Look up overseas education, open your mind to the "maybe"..you could land up teaching/or having another whole new career. You as an American are known as an innovator, and a problem solver. Take Advantage of it. Than you little blueberry for the referral. My oldest son has been having a miserable few years working food service jobs that cause him pain (due to a double hernia repair a few years ago) so he's back at the community college. It's helping his outlook on life to have the hope of a better job someday, and it doesn't hurt that he's getting the satisfaction of good grades. Completely unrelated, hubby has been doing a lot of painting this month. He painted a few small demons plus the big one from Bones 1. Which is great! However... Today we've got a a D&D game and I'm somewhat terrified at the prospect of my poor paladin having to face all those demons! I'm so sorry to hear about the job loses. Cyradis
You know how there are certain items that just accumulate? Ponytail holders. Pocket lint. Rocks in pockets. That stuff. My mini-tools has its own thing. In organizing, I found 7 packs of Xacto knife blades. Same darn type of blade. Somehow it always seemed like I didn't have them, but I did. **boggles** 9

Cyradis
I end up with one or two ponytail holders or hair clips that I use constantly, but then forget where the pack of them went, or can't find it, then go get another hair-holder. A year or two later, BOOM. Packs of ponytail holders. 3

I'll stick with cute plush dragons I dunno, depends on how big they are. Ma'al Drakar seems like one that could be teethed on without choking, right? Or at least gummed. Dunno if teeth cut Bones material. You could personally experiment by chewing on a dragon first. Don't use any humanoid size Bones. Those are choking risks. Big dragons are hard to swallow though! 3
