Akela
I suppose you could call this the very first ever Sci-Fi CAV Universe Heroic Scale figure. General Drake was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. Enjoy. :)
ladystorm
oh how cool! will he be available for Christmas? nice work Bobby. cbs
lstormhammer
Very well done. Now I just need it in my hot little hands. --I'm thinking ww1 british officer colors, khaki and olive. --lstormhammer
ladystorm
I'm thinking lavender, to match my CAVs, oops did I say that, I mean, yeah, olive and khaki, yeah, that sounds good. :) cbs
Lady Tam
Start putting out figures like these and I will ahve no choice but to get into CAV! Good work! Lady Tam
lstormhammer
And in the spirit of the british tommys of The Great War, I'll greenstuff a great, muckin' huge handlebar moustache onto it. Koo-Koo-Ka-Choo. --lstormhammer
Leech
Hmm.... I think I'll hold of painting it until we've seen/heard about General Drake. However, I do hope the others are this good. I assume Bobby has done many figures for Warlord/DHA. I am surprised this was hand scultped though... a little :o)
Jeneki
hmm isn't General Drake mentioned in the CAV Rulebook? †iirc he's a mercenary recruiter, known for getting the best men for the job. †I'm not sure what he'd be doing on a battlefield, but hey he's got a huge stogie so it's a cool figure regardless. As long as he doesn't walk around ripping CAVs in half with his bare hands (you know what I'm talking about) I'm happy .
Leech
General Drake reputedly drives a Sultan... which probably means he's either wanted by people or does fight himself on occaision.
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 19, 2002 Moderator Share Posted November 19, 2002 Isn't the Sultan the CAV whose only redeeming feature is a +3 ACA? Herr Drake must be either really cocky or really sure of himself. Maybe he rolls 2D6 in close assault instead of the D10.
smokingwreckage
oooooh. Nice! Iwanna! now, I know this is a very /sensitive/ subject, but..... is he 25-8 or 30-35 mm scale? I hurry to add that both fit in with various figs I already own!
lstormhammer
Or, much like traditional officers, he leads his men, not engage in the actual combat. He's there to be seen by his men, and if he has a hand-to-hand based CAV, then I would assume he's going to leave the shooty to his troops. --but I've never played. --lstormhammer
bent brush
Very cool, Reminds me of Bobby's Cap Jack Robertson produced by DemonBlade way back. When will it be avalible and what $$ are we talkin?
Chrome
No, the Sultan has the kick-butt Martin 44 Rotary IFM. If only it didn't have that pissant 36" range, it'd be the ulimate weapon! Of course, I suppose that's why they gave it the spitwad range in the first place. ;-)
Jeneki
hmm I must be falling behind again. The only fiction I have on Drake (p45 of the rulebook) makes him sound more like a business man than a leader. Where does it say he pilots a CAV? Perhaps this figure is from his younger days, where he earned the title of "General". Now that I think about it, since CAV takes place just after the Galaxy War, it would give him plenty of oppertunities to fight. The +3 ACA CAV is the Spartan, one of the light recon CAVs. The Sultan is the CAV with the versatile indirect missle pack, and can hit hard targets at +4 with IDF (very cool imo).
