REFORMED PAINT ADDICT, LOOKING TO BUY MORE PAINT

Reaper was the first brand of paint I ever bought, gave it away and now I have rekindled my love for the brand. The only game store close has a massive rack o reaper paints. My question is, if I wanted to get colors that are close or exact matches for the Secret Weapon Miniatures colors, which ones would they be? Is there a chart somewhere?

Any or all equivalencies are greatly appreciated. Of interest are the engine glosses, the oil, engine grease, and old oil those would be interesting. Secret weapons swatches are a little useless unfortunately. The heat colors seem interesting but if they are just paint colors called heat then I’m not sure I’m interested. The description for the paints is uniform. The rust and metallics (obvi).

I can't remember where I heard it, possibly on Mister Justin's facebook where he is initially showing off the paints, but I believe Reaper's paint goddess helped design the secret weapon paints and they are distinct from the MSP lines so there will not be an equivilant. Old Oil, with the hint of metallic flake, specifically was the subject of the discussion. Reaper and Secret Weapon are pretty friendly so it would not surprise me if they actively avoid duplicating paints between each other.

I own the engine oil paints and they are in fact amazing.

If you like the SW paints, why not just get them instead of trying for equivalents?

I haven't heard anything bad about them, and it's not as if you'd be denied access here if you used them.

If there's metal in the Old Oil, it means your engine is busted...

Ah this answer was expected. BTW I would call this a non answer. If you have something to add to address my question thats appreciated if you have an off topic or answer to a question I didn’t ask then it doesn’t need to be added. However, I’ll indulge you. The store near me doesn’t have them and I want to keep buying things there so it doesn’t close.

Why the need to be so rude? Gadgetman was making friendly dialogue.

If the local store doesn't have them, why not ask them if they can get them?

Who knows, you may end up liking them more than Reaper's paints?

(I love Reaper's Bones paints, but I reently got hold of the Scale75 Metal & Alchemy Golden paint set, and after trying it, yeah, I also ordered the Copper and Steel sets. The Bones metallics just can't compete)

The store I usually shop from here in Norway didn't have ANY Reaper paints when I started.

(Mostly Army Painter, Vallejo and some Citadel stuff)

These days they have the big sets, and even the LTPKs. Would they have had it if I hadn't asked?

(I bought the full Bones paint set, and the LTPK: Layer Up kit from them)
