Zombicide Survivor Doug

Recommended Posts

Well I finished this guy over the weekend.  He's been a long time in the works.  Several short bursts with long breaks.  I finally decided that I just wanted to get him done.  So I told myself a lot while looking at it "good enough."

Very nice!

I like what you were able to do with the eyeglasses.

And I’m jealous of the blacks you achieved.

Yeah, the glasses  were a bit new for me.  The black came out better than I had hoped.

He looks like the most rad fellow in a bunch of nerds. I like it!

Thanks, I tried to make the eyes much bigger than usual to give it that kind of feel.

He looks great!

Is the sculpt based on Michael Douglas from that movie Falling Down?

I love that movie!

I believe the sculpt was based on that character.  I used an image from that movie as my reference.

Stole my brother's mini from out of his house the last time I was there and painted it for him.  Built a much more deserving base for this fierce Zombicide boss with a vicious streak a mile wide.

So this is the first time I tried painting freehand on the shield  This is the end result of the conversion:

And for the conversion part, I didn't like neither this minis pose, nor its weapon choice (pickaxe really???), nor its commie looking (???) sigil on the shield. So I removed the weapon and sanded the shield. I also think that his pose looks a lot more natural as a spear throw than a pickaxe swing.. Also gave him some simple terrain and a quick paint  Thanks for looking!

This is one of the heroes from legend of drizzt board game. I gave him simple terrain and a super quick speedpaint. I like how he turned out. Thanks for looking

I don't play the game but some of the special guest minis are really cool looking. A friend bought the set to get another character and was just going to toss this one, no interest in it. I thought it looked neat and may fit right into another friends Asian campaign. Saved a mini from taking up space in the local landfill and have a nice gift being sent off to a buddy of mine soon.

I can't believe I haven't posted anything here since October.  Well I managed to finishes some Zombicide mini's back in February.  Camera went and broke on me so I've been procrastinating on taking show offs with my cellphone.  But I decided I might as well.

Here is my Grom from Zombicide.  He's was a promotional figure with I got with the Kickstarter. He was painted up to be a gaming piece.  I tried to keep to the art work somewhat.

Thanks for any C&C you feel to give.
