Have nearly finished the next model in my batch of Freebooters Fate pirates. The mini is sold as "Crazy Perez".

Am happy with everything apart from the face. I used Vallejo medium skin tone (aimed at looking like 'Asian' skin) and highlighted that after a brown wash with medium skin tone mixed with pale sand. Not the look I was after but am trying to learn skin tones.

One nice things about these figures is that you get the sculpted metal base insert so all I will need to do is highlight the wood and stone details then this bit should be done.

I chickened out and after doing a thin coat of mid skin tone, red ink, and pink skin tone, I just added highlights in pink skin tone.

That original colour looked nothing like anyone's natural human skin tone in my view but would have looked brilliant for a half orc.

I just need to paint the base and she is done.

This one I painted a few years ago.
I'm pretty happy with the stones on the base.

I wouldn't trust her when I got sick though.

Here one of my works this past months; an old (now discontinued) mini from Freebooter miniatures.
It had a gloomy melancholic look, so I went with a dark palette around 3 main colors: dark green, blue and purple.

Have done the base colours, wash and highlights so just need to base this figure. I love the style of these models (Fantasy pirate range from Germany) but have a batch of them and for some reason they were really hard to make! It could just be me and superglue.

Grey primer, Vallejo German Black Brown armour, and chestnut brown cloak, base flesh colour from Vallejo paints (quite pink) for the skin and grey gloves (London Grey highlighted up by mixing with pale sand)  Army Painter Shining silver sword. The hair is Vallejo Burnt Red which I would not normally use for red hair but did the trick here.

Shading was my usual crutch of a brown ink wash all over, Army Painter Strong Tone. I used a clean brush to wipe it away from most of the face which avoided my usual problem of having mucky looking faces. Then did the White piping and highlighted the shirt. As ever all c and c welcome.

This is Marshalla Sylvie from Freebooter Miniatures.
In my Lost World she is Bonita, Half Pirate / Half Snake.

I gave painted her base as if she was on driftwood in the water.
Had fun with the Snake part and tried a little sheer on her blouse.
