May 24: If all animals were the same size, which would win in a fight?

Disclaimer: Please don't kill the animals

Kind of depends, are we talking one on one "bare fisted"? Give me the honey badger.

Are we talking about access to ingenuity, and typical social/hunting patterns (i.e. pack hunters, schools of fish, etc.?) Then it gets a lot more interesting. A colony of human sized fire ants or similar would be down right terrifying. One on one, but access to ingenuity and tools? Probably human as we would have access to manufactured weapons and bringing all the predators/pachyderms, etc. down to our size would handicap them.

One thing's for sure though, nobody would go into the Amazon river. Could you imagine a school of human sized piranha?

It depends a lot on the size, doesn't it?

I mean, if everything is suddenly the size of an elephant, 80% of the contestants are going to fall over just trying to breathe at that size, giving the Rhino and Elephant a clear edge. If everything is suddenly under 1" tall, my money is on some fierce insect, like a fire ant or something.

So many factors!

My vote would have to be for the house cat.

Once disadvantage of size is ruled out, they become on par with lions, etc but with several important advantages.

1 The saliva of housecats is actually poisonous to most non domesticated mammals.

2 Almost every human in their vicinity is going to leap to their aid.

Granted the same goes for dogs, except the poisonous bite, so in effect we now have dog vs cat. Several of my friends own miniature breeds of dog, and every one of them leaves the cat strictly alone. Even Sheila, our old pit bull/ american bull terrier mix was deathly afraid of cats. (possibly due to being the only puppy in a shelter full of cats when we got her.)

Also cats have the "Dragon Blood" as it were, so increasing their size might also have the effect of restoring their glands needed to breathe fire.

Oh, good point.

An ant-sized lion versus an ant, the lion will be pathetically weak.

A lion-sized ant versus a lion, though the ant will look terrifying, will be crushed under its own weight, an easy kill for the lion.

But if we go by fantasy style sizing where the laws of physics and biomechanics are quietly standing in the corner, I'm giving the edge to a nearly all of the normally tiny invertebrates who are now giant sized.

Many people freak out when there's a normal size bee. So imagine one as big as yourself, and you happen to use rose water shampoo...

Then the bee sits on you and sniffs, unless you bop them. Bees are chill. Wasps are the evil ones!

Bee?  Can you imagine a you-sized hornet?

I didn't want to use wasps as an example, since we already know they're evil. (Giant sparrow hornet. AW HELL NO!)

I like bees (and bumblebees, as they're fuzzy-wuzzy in their own way). But bees are often misunderstood and underappreciated. It would only be worse if giant sized.

I recently have lost 24 pounds (since Christmas).  I want to lose at least another 22 before ReaperCon and another 20 to 30 after that by next year at this time.

I know y'all will go wild with self-imposed rules  and asking technical questions about this, go have fun with it

Past, either witnessing the events of Holy Week for myself or to see what this country looked like before we Europeans came and changed the entire landscape.

While most every animal is more ferocious, lethal, & predatory, the ULTIMATE creature in a fight is The Skunk; re, being ferocious, lethal, & predatory is of little use when you are throwing up.

Definitely gonna go with future,  so I can test out the observation paradox theory and what happens if I observe winning lottery numbers, write them down and attempt to bring them back to my original timeline...

I was initially going to with with something in the insect category.  However, judging by all the horror B movies I've seen, we already had that fight and humans won. ::D:

I am the 2 AM person for a number of people.  Help moving, preventing bad things, and getting them the help they need.  A good Overlord cares for his minions.
