77290, Mousling Beekeeper

Good day everyone! Now that the Facebook contest is over, here are some pictures from my entry for the Official Quarterly Reaper Group Bones Painting Contest #6. This is the Bones version of 77290, the Mousling Beekeeper that was sculpted by Gene Van Horne. There was a total of 56 entry in the contest with a lot of very creative and beautiful pieces. I won an honorable mention for those fantastic green bee eyes! I painted the bee in a reddish color and give it a sad look as if it has been worn to Beehave by the angry Beekeeper. I first read: "Barkeeper" and I thought: Okay ... what kind of drink is that? But then I realized: not a barkeeper, but a beekeeper.

 

Great work, though the bee looks unsatisfied with her situation.

Both Bee Keeper & Bee are BEAUTIFULLY painted, personable little creations. I LOVE the Bee's eyes. WONDERFULLY DONE!

That's some lovely work.  Though, to be honest I read those eyes more of "Yeah, yeah. Are we done yet?"  When I first looked.  I can see the sad now.

Thanks for all your comments everyone, this little guy was very fun to work on. I used 09294, Alien Goo and 09008, Sun Yellow Master Paint Series for the eyes. I think what gives it so much "emoji style" expresion is the location of the black and white dots.

 

I'm slowly getting used to paint Bones and will be part of the next Facebook contest. The next model that was chosen by the winner Susan, for the seventh edition of the contest, is 77355: Count Lorenth. It an amazing Overlord Captain monted on its armored horse. This highly detailled model was sculpted by Chaz Elliott. Looking forward to see your entries in the contest.
