Great job, and flesh is NOT the easiest to work on.

The Pirate Life suits the Girl; she will never have to worry about drowning. She certainly is a BEAUTIFULLY painted creation. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks for the kind comment Jasonator.

To be clear it is ONE bust, I left the hat and bustier off for the first set of pics, the bustier is not glued on the final version either.

I loved the options and didn't want to choose..

I still need to improve on things, but I'm happy with her as is.

Thanks Al!

She was a lot of fun to paint although I had to skip my first idead for painting the bustier sheer.

I need more practice to pull that off.

The bandana was freehand which I think worked.

The rust effect on the plinth is from the Vallejo Special Effects Set.

She's just stunning! I've been following the WIP so I know how much work you put into her and it was well worth it!

Thank you!

I learn a little bit more every time I paint a larger mini or bust.

I love painting busts, I've already got the next one lined up!

Especially impressed with the Macaw, headscarf and rusty base.

Thanks!

The macaw is copied from a picture, I already painted a smaller version for my 54mm Maria Roseblade.

Headscarf was freehand and the rust is Vallejo Rust, Dried Rust and P3 Pig Iron.

Captain Scarlet came out great. Wonderful work on her.

I have got one remark though: One of her eyes looks out of place.

But maybe that is absolutely understandable. Of course she is suffering from paranoia. A long life as a pirate lets you have your eyes just everywhere. Enemies, bouys, shallow waters ... always have an eye checking your port side and one on the starboard side.

This is Tiriel from Hasslefree Miniatures that I painted in TMM. She was a much needed fun figure to help keep my motivation going as I work on other larger projects as I tend to loose focus if I work on something too long with out finishing.

Since I’m wrapping up Deladrin, here is the next in the queue.  Devona, Female Wizard.  She’s a curious wizard with plate mail leggings, a chain mail skirt, and a staff that looks more like a spear.  Also, is her torso adorned with a breastplate?  Or is it part of her dress?  And what’s up with the scalloped things on her back?

Not sure what I’m going to do with her.  I hope you enjoy the process of discovery tagging along with me.  The one thing I have decided is to try to give her more of an East Indian skin tone.

Am cracking on with some opposition to my orc pirates. These are the Razig warlord pirate minis. The bases are resin (they are meant to depict trenches but think they will work here). Have sprayed them all with Army Painter skeleton bone. Then a sepia ink wash all over for definition and a process of going through and colouring in. Am going to add a cannon as well. Am going for quite a colourful scheme, that will be muted by the pre shading and then dusted up with an all over drybrush of off white.

Am putting together a skirmish game crew of Fantasy type pirates. Would be brilliant to match these with the Brinewind minis or the Pirates of the Dread Sea game when that comes out. These are all Reaper. One is a human pirate that I've painted as a half orc. Next steps are to include an orc toting a cannon (because magic cannons don't recoil and blow your arms off apparently) and the female goblin pirate from the warlord range.
Most of the minis came with a small plank base. I stuck them to mdf round bases and added bits of coffee stirrers to them. Then did a simple water effect using gloss mod podge over bright blue.
