June 5: What's your favorite season? What do you like about it?

Autumn, it is the time of the Coming of the Great Pumpkin!

The heat of summer subsides, so I can break out the coats again and the vast fields of yellow brown corn and the explosion of color in the trees seem to awaken something in me. Later in the season, when all is gray and dead the older neighboorhoods and cemetary take on a wonderful gothic horror vibe. Winter can also be fun, with the snow giving me an opportunity to traumitize the neighbors with Calvin inspired snow art, and I can enjoy darker beers without feeling as if each one has caused me to gain +6 Sluggishness.

I don't much care for Spring, as it consists of mud and allergies, and Summer puts me at the mercy of the Yellow Orb that Burns and Blinds. (also I sweat easily and carrying spare shirts around gets old fast.)

Best reply I've ever heard to this is, "Do you hate birds and bats?  Because you don't get to have many of those if you kill off all the mosquitos."

I don't know how true that is, nor have I spent any thought on the value of that trade, but there it is.

It's one of those food chain things.

Birds, bats and spiders are natural pest controls. Kill off the mosquitoes and the rest will fall (and as a bonus, you may have poisoned your environment!). Then the mosquitoes come back, with no predators to balance them in the short run.

Humanity has a poor record of successfully controlling nature.

I used to find Cricket Season and Tarantula Season kind of amusing.

In deep south Texas, "rainy season" lasts from a day to a week, and that's when all the rain happens. And when it happens that way, a lot of sudden water, all at once, the tarantulas' burrows fill up, and the spiders go on the move. All at once. Marching across the landscape, only thing missing is William Shatner. It's impressive, and it freaks out the out of towners BAD.

In south central Texas, where I lived much of my life, in middle to late summer, all the cricket eggs hatch. All at once. I've seen storefronts BLACK with live crickets. The birds and geckoes have a field day. And it freaks out the out of towners BAD.

On the plus side cricket season makes getting bait for Bluegills easy.

If I were retired, I'd say: I love spring, when the plants and flowers start to bloom, when the weather's decent and not too humid.  It's great weather to be out in.

Unfortunately, spring tends to be the time of Audit Hell, so I rarely get the chance to enjoy the weather.

My follow-up answer is the fall.  The weather is nicer, and tends to be nicer for longer.  The leaves on the trees are pretty as they tuck in for the winter.  There aren't as many flowers though as the fall goes by, though.

Autumn. Things are cooling back down to much nicer temperature, and it has the absolute best of all the holidays in it; HALLOWEEN!

Deep and Icy Winter.  When the bugs are not around to attempt to eat your flesh while you are still living in it.  The same could be said of late fall, but WINTER is far better in my mind.

Ooh - good question!  Let's see.

Winter - nope.  It gets cold in Hong Kong and we don't have any form of central heating in our home.  As a result, I dress up in multiple layers at home - including a heavy jacket - which makes it hard to do anything that requires manual dexterity (such as painting).

Spring - nope.  Springtime in Hong Kong is annoying as it's rainy season.  And rainy season in HK generally means typhoons and thunderstorms (thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me!).  Besides, spring time always sets off my allergies.

Summer - nope.  Summer in Hong Kong is ridiculously hot.  A real issue for me as my wife is cold blooded and doesn't let me turn on the air conditioning!  I spend most of summer in a heat induced lethargic state of laziness.

Hmmm.  I guess that leaves Autumn as the winner. ::D:

In Autumn, the temperature has started to cool off relative to Summer.  Which basically means you don't have the boiling highs of Summer nor the freezing lows of Winter.  At the same time, the humidity levels have also started to drop which makes breathing in general a lot easier.

Also, we get to stuff our pie-holes with mooncake during the mid-Autumn festival.  Yum!

June 6: If you were in charge of your favorite movie/tv franchise, what would do with it next?

Thanks, Crowley!

Well, since we're talking about Star Wars, I would replace The Last Jedi with something that works out better. And since I have unlimited power, I would jettison the entire crud that is the Transformers movie franchise, as well as the one who sullied it in the first place.

Hm..difficult to choose.

Game of Thrones..write myself in it and give myself the pleasure of brutally killing Theon Grejoy.

Or becoming the owner of the Twilight Saga so I can make sure it will never be aired again.
