Ral Partha, female warrior with Scimitar and Shield

Red Sonja, anyone?

I remember helping you out when you were getting started painting. Now, after about a 6 year break,  I am looking up to your figures and hoping I can get my skills (especially blending, which I am most definitely out of practice with) up to the level of your figs.

Great job!!!

Nicely done. I like the way you painted the little brass disks hanging from her belt.

Thanks, each one pretty much individually painted with loving care...

Is that putting it on too thick?

Not at all!

Unless you forgot to thin your paints.  (✿◠‿◠)

I've hopefully cured myself of that affliction! That's why I try to only use Reaper Paints nowadays (shameless plug for Reaper on its own site).

Very nice work on her!

Thank you much Chaoswolf, I like this chick, as she's nicely covered up, and has got some good sturdy legs on her. Looks like she's walks a lot and can probably squat a goodly amount of treasure when necessary.

This piece has been sitting in my mini drawer for quite some time.  I'm not sure where it came from or why it showed up but it appeared and desired paint so it got some.  I am thinking of making it the grand mentor for the legion of Justice and Caeke to counter the dread influence of Fatimus but we will see.  In the mean time, I dont know too much about this mini other than it was produced by Ral Partha in 1991 for TSR Its pretty and it was fun to paint, but my google fu is not strong enough to find the name of the character and the base has no further information.

So without further Ado, my dragon Elder

A flashback from the 90s. A selection of Ral Partha gargantuan orcz pulled out of the Iron Winds random con bins. A couple of them got some minor conversions/addons from Reaper models and weapon packs due to some missing parts. Decided to keep the bases simple. I imagined them trudging across muddy trampled land.

Recently @Kangaroorex sent me a Ki'rinn for my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon Project along with a Asian Dragon, a Chibi Dragon and some candy.
I already had one of these Ki'Rinn and decided to paint them in two different versions, brother/sister? Evil/Good? You decide.

Anyway, as with the Asian Dragon I wanted to show their unnatural appearance by combining normal paint with metallic highlights.
      So here they are.

      Hope you like them.

So I finished this one two nights ago, didn't get around to taking his photo yesterday because I got home too late last night and it was just too dark to take advantage of natural light.

Here is another Julie Guthrie Ral Partha classic from the eighties a hooded fighter/warrior/ranger with sword and shield.  Being he was originally listed in the eighties as a ranger:

I wanted to give greens and browns, but nowadays being he is just being called a hooded fighter, I still wanted to keep some natural colors but ended up giving him some non-rangery colors on his shield:

Also his inner cloak I used the same colors and painted at the same time as the female archer I just finished (her green gloves).

Anyhows, hope you enjoy another classic figure from the past!  Julie Guthrie was great back then and she's even greater now!
