Wizkids - Elfe Female Paladin

Recommended Posts

Great job on her! Really like her shield and the dark armor. Your basing sets a beautiful charging scene. This looks like another WizKids figure I need to get my hands on. I love the motion and the very three dimensional sculpt. So many PVC figures are flat. What's your opinion on the casting detail of this one?

@CorallineAlgae

Thanks, as for wizkids minis, for the one I got I found them surprisingly well detailled comparing to their size.

Sometimes maybe a bit too much for the space you have ^^.

The elfe paladin set in my opinion are well balanced, just enough but not too much so it was actually quite easy to paint for me, comparing to others figures.

I typically don’t like the smaller Wizkids stuff. Like the larger monsters and such...but this is a great paint job, love the base.

@Felltyde

Thanks, to be honest I will be happy with a bit larger figure from now on :D

Aaaaaand ordered. :lol: After seeing your painted elf paladin and reading your endorsement I went ahead and ordered the pack. I doubt I will paint or base her up as nicely as you did. She looks so awesome charging through that field. Can I ask what size base you used? I think some of what makes your version look so dynamic is the basing. The extra space really helps set the scene for her charge.

@CorallineAlgae

congrat on the purchase, hope you will like them, still have one waiting to be painted :)

for the base size I think it os a 2 inch one, smaller than that I will find difficult to add stuff around the figure.

      One of my favorite Fantasy races are the Undead.
      This thread will be dedicated to all the beautiful female vampires/necromancers/ghosts and apparitions.
      I will also include all my Sophie minis..

      Here are the girls I have painted before to show what this is all about, soon more Undead / Evil Sisters will follow.

      EDIT - Changed the Name of the thread from the Alluring Death to Ladies of Death since not all are actually Undead.

      A litte surprise attack ( No WIP). A quick job , I painted her in 2 hours to try some stuff out.

      She's from Ironwind Metals ( Ral Partha) and she is a lookalike of Vampirella, only a "bit" more "developed".

      She might not be nude but she wears so little I decided to link the Pics ..because well she might as well be naked.

      I had fun painting her and I tried a marble green base, not sure if this worked out, but practice practice...right?

      Paints involved..The Reaper Vampire Skin Triad..Scale 75 Antares Red, Inktense Red, Chestnut Ink , Elven Gold, Decay Black and Deep Blue.
                                 Vallejo Dark Forest Green , Reaper Olive Green Triad.

      It seems that scale creep is a very real thing! This is Nolzur's delightfully brutish and verdant Shambling Mound. For a Large creature it is very large indeed, easily the size of a tabletop-scale elephant or bigger, and extending way off a 2x2 base with its outstretched limb.

      I put some straight-pin mushrooms on it, as I do.

      Here's a group shot with Reaper's beautiful Swamp Shambler and a WotC grab-bag Dryad and Needle Blight, for scale comparison.

      Presenting Dr. Helen Matronic, the Field Medic for my Starstrider team of space adventurers.
      She's trying to escape her demons (both literal and metaphorical) by exploring the furthest reaches of the galaxy.

      Overall I'm fairly pleased with how she turned out, even if she is a little rough in places (her tunic trim was a bit of a nightmare to paint).

      As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

      Been working on this guy for a while; finished him (for a given value of "finished") a couple weeks ago but didn't take pics until recently. The sculpted beard wasn't doing it for me, so I added some reindeer moss. Glued on some tiny leaves that look like miniaturized burr oak leaves. His huckable boulder I'm using for other terrain.

      This is a big fella!

      C&C welcome as always.
