I'm pretty excited about finishing this guy. Stone giant (HT8c) from Otherworld Miniatures. I used Badger's gray airbrush primer, Reaper 09086 Stone Grey and 09087 Weathered Stone 09476 Woodland Brown, Army Painter Dark Tone wash.
      Comments are welcome!

Why is this giant standing this way?  He is solidly planted and ready, but not on the edge of combat.
He must be guarding something, expecting combat soon, but no one within striking distance.
After several false starts I ended up at this magical gate, clearly not built by or for giants of his size.
the Icy footprint shows he has been here a while, and went from standing position to a wide stance.
Was torn between entering this into contests as vignette or single figure.  (reapers large figure contest)
I went with single figure as by itself it does not really tell a story.
now if I paint and add a figure coming through the gate (like Thor)  then that is a diorama.
plenty of time to see if it works before Reapercon.
I tracked 20 hours of work on the giant, and another 8-10 on the base.  I have only gone in that deep on contest entries.

Presenting the Rotten Mummy, as the name suggests he's a Mummy that's going rotten, and he's part of the Egyptian faction for the game Twisted by Demented Games.
It's a really fun to paint mini that is annoying hard to photograph, but I think I did a decent job on him.
As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Hey, all! Its been a little while and I finally sat down and painted something. I put these guys together and I'm really happy with the shading. I wanted to put some water on the bases, so I tried wrapping them with plastic and pouring realistic water in. It... did not go according to plan. The water cured unevenly, shrank, left weird tide lines, partially peeled off... Basically everything that could go wrong with it went wrong. Luckily, I had sealed the model before pouring the water, so I was able to peel it off with an exacto and some tweezers. I salvaged what I could and I think they still look pretty good.

I present to you the almost nuclear looking troll that utilizes FolkArt's Ultra Dye "Purple Rain" as its inspiration and base shadow and wash.  Also included in the skin triad are Reaper Blood Red and Reaper Brilliant Red for the highlights.
I'll add the remaining paint list later when they are in front of me.  For now, pictures:
