A cooler day, finally.

Cloth is MSP Gothic Crimson.  Base colour for the steel bits is S75 Black Metal.  Steampunk reactor-y bit is S75 Emerald Alchemy over some MSP Solid White.

The problem now is that the Clockwork Brass is looking a bit rough next to the S75 Black Metal.  It may be getting too....something.....

May look at my P3 metallics and see if I want to switch.

So the heat and humidity finally broke here a week or two ago.

But then I've spent the last couple of weeks helping my wife move 50 years worth of stuff out of her parents home as it is selling in a few weeks.

We dragged all the furniture over on Wednesday (then recovered from moving all the furniture on Thursday) so today she finally relaxed enough to go have some fun with the kid.

So I got to paint a bit. (not too much, cause everything still hurts a bit from Wednesday).

During that 2 months or so, I decided to order the other S75 metals sets.  So here is an update on our intrepid Thunderer #1.

thunderer_1_new_metallics.jpg.f03dcfe49df8f03dea6f937e37f64dce.jpg

Breastplate is now S75 Decayed Metal, then Victorian Brass.  A little AP Flesh Wash.  Some more Victorian Brass.  And a little highlighting with S75 Amber Alchemy and Moonstone Alchemy.

The rest of arm and leg bits just have a base coat of Decayed Metal.

I think that is about the look I'm going for.

Been very busy lifting heavy things, but the in-law's house is done, walk through was yesterday (along with putting out the 37 bags of recycling and 10 bundles of cardboard....:upside:).

So, a bit of base coating today.

My back, shoulders and neck all feel like crap from lifting way too may heavy things (no, I don't know why there was the block from a 305 in the garage...) so just 20 minutes of slapping some S75 Decayed Metal on.

It is a start at least, and hopefully my hands will be steadier next time.

Two days of painting in a row! Been a while since that happened....

I'm at the track the next 2 days so I know I won't make 3.

Some S75 Black Metal base coating today.

Made it almost 30 minutes before getting too shaky this time.  Might try another session later, depending on how everything else I need to get done today goes, and what my back thinks of that idea.

Jasper! It's been a while! Yeah I picked up a starter kit of Space Wolves quite a while back as a friend of mine was really into WH2K and wanted me to start playing. I think I got through 2 figures until I got burned out on the planning, prepping, painting, etc. I think they came out pretty ok, but yours are looking fantastic! I haven't heard of that faction before, but I haven't been to a GW store in over a year. We don't have them in my town, plus like you said, they're $$$.

This one is one of the newer factions that came out with Age of Sigmar, the game that replaced Warhammer Fantasy :)

So. 1 hour endurance race at the end of the day yesterday. 40 or so minutes in, a pro stock tears a hole in the oil pan and makes a complete lap (1.6 Miles, 2.5 kilometers) before running out of oil...

A little over 2 hours later we'd finished putting down oil absorbent materials (oil absorb and concrete dust), scrubbing it in with brooms, and using blowers to clear the excess dust.

Needless to say, my back is in no shape to paint today.

But at least I'm watching some painting videos!

Presenting Alfredo "The Dandy" Francini, a low level mobster with a love of brightly coloured clothes, he's part of the Scylla faction from the now defunct (I think) game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio.

This guy has been sitting in my 'to be painted' pile for far too long, so I worked on him for the last couple of weeks in between other projects.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Next in line: 77049, Bones Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger.

I tried priming with a 1:1 mix of Blue Liner:White Brush On Primer.  There were a few mold lines and casting valleys that showed up.  I put a layer of Brush On Sealer on them.  We’ll see how that worked.

I went with saturated colors on this one.  Enough of the black and brown, this Sascha is from a dimension where the future's so bright you gotta wear shades.

Before the known ages, the ancient gods, who were traveling through time and space, between galaxies and systems, between planets and moons, finally reached this small blue planet and its light gray moon. Millions of years ago, searching for the force on the dark side of this moon, they found the crystals that emitted enormous energy.

They took it with them and returned to the blue planet. With the use of the power from other dimensions they try to warp the crystal and use it for their own dark plans.
It quickly turned out that the crystal emitted too much power, a power that did not harmonize with the forces of the Ancient One. The symbiosis caused conflict and damage to the ancients. The warped crystal had been abandoned by them here... and for millions of years, it had lain, covered by layers of earth and sand in the darkness and silence...

      Hi.
Greetings from Andrzej (Ater), Jakub (MiniaturesArtTeam), and Pawel  (PJG_sculptor). For some time we were working together on something on the side which finally became a big miniature project. We plan to put it together in a board-battle game!

But let's take small steps and start gently. In our first project, we want to offer you some miniatures from the world which were shown to us in the dreams by one guy, who calls himself Cthulhu (we know... it is quite weird, but the dreams were really cool).

Inspired by these visions, we create a new universe in the dark, steampunk/dieselpunk climate. Now we want to show you our project and we cordially invite you not only to participate in the project itself but also to create it. Please, share your thoughts and opinions with us! Please come closer, sit down and hear a story about the Crystocracy.

Wanted to continue working on my Underworld stuff, but didn't fancy the last two minis I had left in the previous thread, so thought I'd roll them into a new one.

This time we've got 10 randomly chosen minis, the two dudes from the last thread and the whole Sea Elf team (They felt too fragile to pack away after I built them).

Here we have Cyrille and Celine (A pair of Elven Peacekeepers) and Snoz a Goblin Scout with his wolf Fang.

This set consists of Zellotl (Lizardman Warrior), Freshly Awake (a newly risen Skeleton), Frilna (a companion beast to the Fey Elves), Sorcha (battle-hardened Mercenary) and Ailithir (Evil Knight).

Yrkill and Jafari (from the previous thread) plus their companions Sigmundur and Sethos (because someone or something is determined to have me paint these particular teams). Sethos isn't an Underworlds figure but is a matching Cultist from the OOP Warhammer Quest:- Silver Tower game on an old resin base I found.

And this is the Sea Elf team.
We've got Gaelin (he's a Fish), Tanjaya (the Warrior at the back), Indra (a Summoner), Surya (a Harpooner with no eyes) and Orym (he's a Crab).

      Making a start on Sorcha:-

Painted the furry collar on her cape.
It's a base of Cold Grey with a Black Wash and the drybrushes of Cold Grey, Ghost Grey and Off-white (Only on the upper shoulder bits).

Not sure if I should paint her head next or the armour that's close to it, either way I think I'll make a mess.
